Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new week! While I melt in 37 degree C weather in the UK 🇬🇧 it’s that time again - book haul time! Insatiable was a complete cover buy, I admit it. Funnily enough, I love books with fruit on the cover, anyone else? It’s about women and desire lust, longing and the need to be loved. It is a story about being unable to tell whether you are running towards your future or simply running away from your past. The result is at once tender and sad, funny and hopeful. I’m a big Murakami fan so already had his latest short story collection, First Person Singular pre-ordered. From nostalgic memories of youth, meditations on music and an ardent love of baseball to dreamlike scenarios, an encounter with a talking monkey and invented jazz albums, together these stories challenge the boundaries between our minds and the exterior world. Finally, The Way We Live Now by Anthony Trollope. I’ll be reading this with a fabulous group of bookworms and it’s my very first book by the author. This novel is usually thought of as a work of satire but is better described as his most substantial exploration of a form of crime fiction where the crimes are both literal and moral. I’d love to know your thoughts on any of these books or authors. Let’s have a chat in the comments and have a lovely week everyone! 🤗😘 #bookstagram #scottishbookstagrammer #readingtheclassics #classicnovels #bookhaul #insatiable #daisybuchanan #firstpersonsingular #harukimurakami #shortstorycollection #thewaywelivenow #anthonytrollope #booksineedtoread #morebooksplease📚 #lovingbookslovinglife https://www.instagram.com/p/CgKVQdhL_qW/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
