Book review: The Wild Hunt by Emma Seckel

★★★★★

This was more than what I expected from the book blurb.

For me it was emotional, filled with so many things unspoken, conversations never had, and the kind of grief that settles like a heavy blanket.

There is a great story of family and connection in between the mourning, islands secrets, and Celtic folklore that blends beautifully into this. It had me weeping at the last 20% from the tension, the eerie suspense, and hope for the characters and this remote island.

I’ve heard a lot of good and bad things about The Captive Prince trilogy – which has me wanting to read it even more to find out what all the hub-bub is all about and draw my own conclusions. Is there a novel that you’ve read solely because it created controversy? I’m loving the dark nature vibes of this pic, despite the series being a queer Edwardian fantasy.
