Today is the first day of a new picture book making class I'm taking at Pratt. It's being taught by Barbara Lalicki (renown editor) and Steve Henry (veteran illustrator). I feel kind of nervous--those first day of school jitters. Sometimes I wish I could delve into my child self and dig up that naive fearlessness I had when I didn't know any better. :) On that note, I enjoyed the overwhelmingly positive reactions of some kids at Brooklyn Landmark Elementary on Friday when I read them 'The Giving Tree'.
