Sai - Historical Pirate Verse

Background:
Born in a port town of Japan, Konoha. Sai was orphaned at a young age with both of his parents dying during a single Pirate raid. However, it was known that his Father was a respectable sailor and, a small orphanage called "The Leaf" took him in. During that time, it wasn't known that "The leaf" had a connection to the infamous pirate ship, "The Root."
During his time at "The Leaf" he, among other orphans, were trained to be cold hearted monsters. Although, they were all brought up as Bothers and, this is where he met a slightly older orphan, Shin. The two boys got along exceedingly well, Sai drawing for Shin and, Shin keeping Sai company.
Half way through Sai's 10th year of being alive, "The Root" sailed back into port during the cover of the night. All the orphans were ushered onto the boat and made to fight to the death. Sai was to fight his own brother, Shin. Luckily or not, depending on how you see it, Shin collapsed of illness and passed away a few hours later.
With Shin passing on, Sai had lost all emotion, repressing any memory he had of him. He joined "The Roots" crew, pledging allegiance to Danzō and finding out the truth of the Pirate Ship, "The Root". The ship was unofficially apart of the port towns navy, destroying all enemies that threatened the town.
Sai rose through the ranks of the ship, becoming one of Danzō's first mates. However, he is still quite young and often goes into port to try and learn how to socialise without the use of books.
Personality [Canon]:
Sai still has the same personality of being socially unprepared and quite emotionless. However, he is more aware of what he says and the effects he has on people; he gaint this through his time on the ship and, evading detection in ports. With this new awareness, he's often sly around authorities, stopping himself from getting caught.
As one of Danzō's right hand men, Sai has to watch out for new crew members, having to intervene when they are too close to getting caught etc. After the Mothering period, Sai is charged with clear up; disposing of any crew members who have left and/or been caught by the police etc.
Historical Pirate AU Head Canons:
✘Sai doesn't know any of the Naruto series as he's on a completely different ship.
✘Sai is known as "Sly Sai" in the pirating world for his ability to get out of trouble and almost vanish off the radar.
✘As a historical Pirates AU, no-one has powers but, they still have the ability to wield swords and such.
✘Mun's Root Head Canons are still in affect.
✘The 'mothering' period only lasts for two weeks. After that, new crew members are on their own.
