We were unable to pay the rent for July. We went to speak to the Weichert property management. Nicole Brigalli, the lady Linda and I spoke to stated that the property owner was "easygoing" and would allow us to make payments and if I was interested I could work on another property owned by my property owner and my work would go towards our rent and if I went beyond rent owed the owner would pay me cash. I agreed to work on 4442 Ruthann Court. Nicole, gave me her credit card for materials purchases. Nicole and I met at the property and examined it inside and out and discussed what I could start on and then she left, telling me, “you will not be able to contact me for a few days as I will be in Miami”. As it turned out I was never able to get Nicole to respond to my texts or phone calls, even to this date.
I paid the rent for August.
After about four weeks of work, I emailed Nicole a bill for my work. Nicole still has not contacted me. Nicole still works at Weichert but is never there when I go by. When I check my Weichert account online, I see no consideration for my work applied to my rent bill, which states I will owe for July and September. As Nicole gave me her credit card (not a business card) and the property does not belong to Nicole it is likely someone was going to compensate her. Someone else was aware of her actions. I doubt Nicole intended to pay out of her own pocket for the materials. At this point I’m pretty sure Nicole and the property owner never intended to pay for my work.
I have not only been ripped off for my work but also for my time as if I had worked for someone else during these four weeks, I would have the rent money.
All the houses on our street are the same type duplex and all were built about 40 years ago. Of the 15 or so houses on our street only the two owned by our property owner are falling apart from rot and neglect. The unit I worked on has also had a sewage leak from the unit to the septic tank for over a year.
