The Gastrodon in Iscan's concept art image is a West Sea Gastrodon, yet Iscan lives in the Cobalt Coastlands, where East Sea Gastrodon live. So in that image he's either fishing in the Obsidian Fieldlands or brought that Gastrodon with him to wherever he's fishing. No way to know for sure, but I think it's likely he's fishing somewhere in the Coastlands, which means he brought the Gastrodon there, which means it's his partner

Interesting posit there! While I don’t think that confirms much of anything as concept art doesn’t always equate proper canon (consider Ingo’s concept page for a moment, he describes in game that he was standing when someone from the Pearl Clan found him but the art shows him collapsed). However! I would very much enjoy Iscan having a Gastrodon because that would be epic.

As for location, it could be either or! If we take it as he’s in the Fieldlands than Iscan is likely fishing somewhere near or in-between Sandgem Flats and Windswept Runs since Gastrodon and Buizel are separated by the body of water in terms of spawn points.

Buizel and Gastrodon don’t share a spawn point location in the Costlands unfortunately. Shellos and Gastrodon mostly roam on the satellite island formations nearer Firespit Island whereas Buizels hang out on the mainland. So that’s in favor of the Gastrodon being his partner Pokémon.

I don’t think it would be too out there to say that Iscan probably went fishing in the Fieldlands since I can’t really think of a reason that would prevent him from doing so? It’s not like he has a noble arena to take care of!
