RECAP FOR REAL TIME EXPRESSION
WEEK 1.
Main Topic: Performance Art
Although performance in the visual arts dates back to futurist productions, the terms "performance art" and "performance" came into common use in the 1970s.
Performance art is a conceptual created through actions executed by the artist or other participants which conveys a content-based meaning in a more drama-related sense, rather than being a simple non-meaning full performance just for entertainment purposes.
Four basic elements form performance art: time, space, the artist's body and presence, and the relationship between the artist and the audience.
Its objective is to generate an answer, occasionally with the help of improvisation and a sense of aesthetics.
The theme in a performance art is usually associated with life experiences of the artist or criticize social problem with a spirit of transformation.
Rather than adhering to a pre-written script, it might instead use spoken word or action as a means of communication between the artist and the audience, or even ignoring audience expectations.
