RECAP FOR WEEK 8

When you hear music but see shapes or you may see a colour the moment you hear a word or name., you are experiencing sensory design and synesthesia.
For example, you might hear the word apple and see red.
RECAP FOR WEEK 6
Topic: Theatre and Hybrid
The theatre productions are almost ready to resume. It may appear that it is almost time to retire streaming productions as a result.
Theatres and their patrons gain when they continue to provide streaming services in addition to live performances. It is a fact that live theatre cannot be replaced by a virtual performance.
Why? 1. APPEAL TO A YOUNGER, DIGITAL NATIVE AUDIENCE. Drawing in a youthful audience is among the most crucial demographics to target. It is necessary to make theatre accessible to this particular group of people. It's what's going to help a theatre grow and broaden its audience.
2. SELL UNLIMITED TICKETS, MORE THAN THEATRE CAPACITY ALLOWS The theater's size strictly limited the size of the audience. There was one immediate benefit that was evident when productions started streaming. An audience for a streaming production can be any size.
3. OFFER BETTER VALUE TO FAMILIES It used to be possible for parents to miss a performance because their kids were too small to go. Parents can watch the show without having to pay for a babysitter thanks to live streaming.
4.PROTECT THE SAFETY OF VULNERABLE PATRONS Many groups of people still need to exercise extreme caution in order to avoid contracting the disease. Immunocompromised individuals might not be able to take a vaccine that works.
5. ALLOW PEOPLE TO ATTEND FROM ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD A theatre can be anywhere thanks to live streaming. A performance can be seen by anybody, anywhere in the world, as opposed to only being accessible to a local audience.
6. DEMOCRATIZING ACCESS TO THE ARTS It takes effort to produce a strong hybrid production. But putting the right plans into action will bring about more than just success. Additionally, it will enable you to expand your audience and improve everyone's access to the arts.
RECAP FOR WEEK 5
Topic: Mediating Performance
Mediation is an organised, interactive process that uses specific communication and negotiation strategies to help disputing parties resolve conflict with the help of an unbiased third party.
Lecture showed us Satu Hari: Penang (mediating performance).
All things considered, our lecturer also demonstrated to us how he puts together these shows, and it's amazing to see what goes on behind the scenes to produce such shows.
RECAP FOR WEEK 4
Topic: A New Media Approach
A single interactive presentation that incorporates various content forms—such as text, audio, images, animations, or video—is referred to as multimedia. Unlike traditional mass media such as printed materials or audio recordings, which featured little to no user interaction.
A person on stage can watch multimedia presentations that are projected, transmitted, or played locally using a media player. Multimedia presentations can be live or recorded and aired as broadcasts.
Live Camera is also one of the many multimedia.
Within the field of media art, live cinema is still a relatively new and emerging concept that combines live music and performing arts with experimental approaches to narrative and non-narrative filmmaking.
Lecturer also introduced us to Super Everything. It is a diverse performing arts project that renowned audio-visual artists The Light Surgeons and a group of Malaysian artists collaborated to create.
RECAP FOR WEEK 3
Main Topic: Scene.
Lecture told us about his experiences about him getting commissioned by British Council Arts Malaysia to shoot about Thaipusam Ceremony in Batu Caves. He firstly set his direction, so that he knows what to shoot and focus. His direction was mainly focusing on the emotion of the prayers.
RECAP FOR RTE WEEK 2
Main Topic: Perception.
Basically, perception is the capacity to use one or more senses (taste, sight, sound, smell and touch) to mentally process by our brain and subtly notice specific details about a certain person or object.
The process of perception works in three different ways:
Organization
Identification
Interpretation
The thing needs to be accessible for the brain to psychologically process through the senses of taste, sight, sound, smell, and touch in order to be perceived.
As for the history of perception, since prehistoric times the concept of visual perception has been applied philosophically as a result for those seeking a greater understanding of the nature of experience.
Psychophysics became beneficial to psychologists to practice with during the 19th century. Through several psychological tests and other methods, this practice assisted psychologists in gaining a deeper scientific understanding of how the human brain perceives information.
CONSTRUCTIVE WORKFLOW
It is important that you organize your workflow and build your thinking abilities to increase the productivity of your work. Your idea can be more generative once you understand how thing flows.
5 TIPS on starting s CONSTUCTIVE WORKFLOW
UNDERSTAND THE QUESTION “It’s not about the answer, it’s about asking the right questions”.
CONSTRUCT A STRATEGIC PLAN Evaluate data & info, Identify Pro and Cons, Create a content creation plan, Understand outcome, Build case studies
Fill in Blanks! Create folder as structure, fill in as progress, synchronize all working files for each software requirement.
Get some Ideas and Inspiration Explore ideas as guide and reference, so that you’re on track. -Set a perimeter. -Idea are limitless -Time is constraint -identify your strength -Reference is just a benchmark -Solution is answer
RECAP FOR REAL TIME EXPRESSION
WEEK 1.
Main Topic: Performance Art
Although performance in the visual arts dates back to futurist productions, the terms "performance art" and "performance" came into common use in the 1970s.
Performance art is a conceptual created through actions executed by the artist or other participants which conveys a content-based meaning in a more drama-related sense, rather than being a simple non-meaning full performance just for entertainment purposes.
Four basic elements form performance art: time, space, the artist's body and presence, and the relationship between the artist and the audience.
Its objective is to generate an answer, occasionally with the help of improvisation and a sense of aesthetics.
The theme in a performance art is usually associated with life experiences of the artist or criticize social problem with a spirit of transformation.
Rather than adhering to a pre-written script, it might instead use spoken word or action as a means of communication between the artist and the audience, or even ignoring audience expectations.
