Reanimating a scene from The Angry Birds Movie
I’ve never done this before but this week, I came up with an idea to reanimate a scene from The Angry Birds Movie, that is in hand drawn animation. There is this one scene that that I felt that the performance of Edward The Birthday Dad could have been better. It’s the scene where he said to Red for missing his son, Timothy’s hatchday party, “And the next time you mess up, don’t tell me a story. Just…take…responsibility.”
Instead of having Edward pointing his finger to Red for “taking responsibility”, I feel that Edward show should place his hand chopping flat on the palm of his hand to really show that Edward indicates that he expects Red to be responsible for his actions. I choose Edward because he’s more of a father figure of sorts, just like my father always taught me to take responsibility for my actions. I’ll be using a model sheet of Edward from one of the movie’s character designer, Luis Gadea to keep him on model.
Ed’s hand should raise up and points at at him at “and the next time you mess up”. Then when he says “Don’t tell me a..”, he lifts his hand in the air and shakes his head in distraught, and when he gets to “story”, he place his hand back down on his side.
