The Spirit of Gentle Death, with their wings and scythe, their job is to collect souls and bring them to the afterlife, essentially they're one of the Psychopomps.
They can "purify" souls with their scythe, so they're often sent to places where souls have become monsters due to unprocessed emotions to sever the soul's link to those memories which is then stored in their flame, however this only serves as a quick fix to the rampaging monster problem.
Those corrupted souls would then have a choice of either living in ignorance at the Border and not move on to the afterlife, or go through trials to confront those memories.
Workplace incidents/hazards they've encountered:
They've gotten too close to the poppies and have fallen asleep more times than they're willing to admit, needing to travel through Dreamland to get someone to help them wake up. It doesn't help that poppies, true to their name, pop up from time to time.
Memory loss due to certain liquids is very troublesome not because of its physical effects but the embarrassing things they might do or say while loopy, leading to much teasing from their friends after recovery.
Falling from high places is very scary, so scary in fact that in their panic they've forgotten they could fly. Safe to say they prefer to hover near the ground and use their wings to supplement their speed instead.
Don't worry, they're not dead, just feeling emotional from touching too many corrupted souls and needed to crash for a bit. They'll bounce back, right?
They've been called many things by souls due to people from different places having different cultures and beliefs, and they aren't stationed in an area like some other Psychopomps might be since they help wherever they're needed and take different forms, so their titles are varied.
Notable examples include: Uncle, Aunty, Shady Lady, Am I dead?, AHHH A GHOST, Fluffy, Lord/Lady whatever the names of the local Psychopomps are, and Old Man Wrinkle.
