ORGANISASI Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) secara resmi mengesahkan keputusan perpindahan (reassignment) Indonesia dari Kawasan Asia Tenggara (South-East Asia Region/SEARO) ke Kawasan Pasifik Barat (Western Pacific Region/WPRO).

Keputusan ini disepakati secara konsensus oleh seluruh negara anggota WHO dalam Sidang World Health Assembly (WHA) ke-78 yang digelar di Jenewa pada 23 Mei 2025.

Perpindahan ini merupakan langkah strategis untuk memperkuat kolaborasi lintas kawasan dalam menghadapi tantangan kesehatan global serta memperluas jejaring kerja sama di bidang kesehatan masyarakat.

Sekretaris Jenderal Kementerian Kesehatan RI, Kunta Wibawa Dasa Nugraha, menjelaskan bahwa keputusan tersebut dilatarbelakangi oleh pengalaman selama pandemi Covid-19.
