Will looks at Hannibal , and doesn't bother trying not to grin. "Well? What do you think?"
"It is possibly the most atrocious thing you've brought into the house." Hannibal sighs and shakes his head. "And there have been things. "
"I got it from the Humane Society Thrift Shop. I was there to get more tennis balls for the troop and saw this and it made me laugh, so I got it. Five dollars. I thought it could go in the basement over the freezer."
"Do you remember when we were in London and sat and looked at the Botticelli for hours?" Hannibal leans towards the poster, tapping the plexiglass with a nail.
"Of course, Venus and Mars." He leans down to give Winston's head a scratch and says, "Look, there's Jack and there's Bedelia." He watches as Winston goes to his bed, under the window in a morning sunbeam. "It's a strange thing, I think. For a child. I mean, I totally understand the meaning, of course, but why not 'Friends come in all sizes' or 'Friends come in all shapes, or of course, colors. What an odd thing for a child's room."
Hannibal glances over, lips twitching. "You're thinking of a curious young Will, taking a playmate's arm and biting it to see how they taste?"
"Oh, that would be a smack to the back of the head, certainly."
Hannibal looks at the picture for another few, long seconds and shakes his head. "In the basement, over the freezer. You could change the frame to white."
Picking up his present to take downstairs, Will grins, and says, "Or not."
