Gospel whined again as the tiny tongue scraped against one of the orbs on his tail. The first kitten was still rolling around his paws, ‘wrestling’ his rainbow monkey, and now there was a second one. Out of nowhere.

If caninoids could sweat nervously, Gospel would have been doing so. Oh no. Oh no. OH NO.

The underground had once been a familiar place, to him, but now it felt....foreign.

Then again, it had been years since he'd set foot below the streets of Abel City. Much had changed in his absence, if only for the passage of time. Certainly, many of the faces were new, barring one or two he still saw lurking beside hastily-erected shops and seedy bars. He hadn't come here to reminisce, however, so Bark pulled up his hood before joining in with the crowds.

He had forsaken the more notable pieces of his usual armor this day for more inconspicuous clothing: a hooded jacket and boots, with a gray bandanna pulled up over his nose and mouth, mimicking his familiar mask. Little could be done to disguise his vivid green hair, or his intimidating height, but Bark wasn't overly concerned about garnering attention. Down here, most Reploids were smart enough to keep their thoughts to themselves.

Now, to find his destination...one of Bark's audio fins twitched in thought as he looked around. The informant found by Maddox had insisted upon meeting at a bar somewhere down in the underground. Bark hadn't recognized the name - either it was new, or his memory was missing a few more holes than he thought...

Credit to @themaverickhunters, @rebelreploid-dynamo and kashtara for helping me work through a stream-of-conscious thought process to work this out.

Issimo was designed at his creation to house multiple CPU chips, originally for storing the massive amounts of media data owned and produced by Resonant Records, as his official capacity (besides being Octavia's son and heir) was a walking data repository. These CPU chips hadn't yet been needed until Issimo was brought into the 9th Special Forces unit, and thrown into the world of covert ops.

In this new line of work, the extra, unused CPU chips were used to house basic AI data instead, for use as aliases for long-term undercover work. Two of the more personal aliases - Viking, the persona Issimo adopted at Black Lake in honor of his brother, and Acoustikat, Issimo's pop-star alter ego - slowly evolved from basic AIs into fully realized sentience over the course of Issimo's near fifty year career with the Maverick Hunters.

As no other alias has yet to display this level of growth (or any growth, really), this is probably due to how much time and attention Viking and Acoustikat specifically were given outside of Issimo's work-related missions, which all other aliases were confined to.

Dark is a notable exception, as he was originally a fully realized AI whose IC chip was removed, and planted inside Issimo's own head to be used like a puppet.

Issimo is always hyper-aware of anything going on behind him. He might not turn around - or even turn his head - to follow the person(s) in question, but his souped-up audios are always tuned in for suspicious sounds and warnings. It’s a hard-dying habit picked up from his often less-than-savory spy work.

Axiom swore. A lot. And still would. But his curse words were always Korean, which very few Hunters around him at the time understood, so none of them ever caught on that those ‘gibberish’ words their comrade would occasionally spit out were actually some pretty nasty stuff.

  Someone had dropped a tip about suspicious activity in downtown Abel City, and Zero, having nothing else to be doing, volunteered to check it out. He, and a small team of other Maverick Hunters, took to the streets, and eventually stumbled upon an energy reading in an old abandoned building. Huh.

  “Right... everyone, behind me.” Zero drew his saber and slowly pushed the front doors open. Nobody seen, at least at first, but he knew from experience to stay on his toes. He’d already lost the element of surprise; in fact, if a Maverick was here, they had that very advantage over him instead. 

  “If you’re hiding, show yourself!”

Spider is superstitious! Before he goes on a mission or enters a fight, he glances at the faces of the weapons card(s) he's drawn before he throws them.(It’s a form of tarot reading, but don’t call him on it!) The ace of spades has become a sign of good luck for him, so whenever it comes up, he’s optimistic about the outcome of whatever.

In contrast, the five of spades is extreme bad luck for him, because that’s the card he drew when he and Aile were attacked by a mechadragon. (He actually lost the card, because it got stuck in the mechadragon’s cranial plating before it was lured off.)

LOVE. -Does your muse have a “special someone”

Issimo claims he’s single, and to that degree, does not have anyone in his life that he is romantically pursuing. But he has been getting rather friendly with his Black Lake coworker Booker lately~

Viking has been slowly coming to terms with his budding feelings for the dragon knight Kashtara. Things are a bit….complicated….by her being from another world entirely, but he’s got his hopes up.

Acoustikat not-so-subtly has his eyes on Jenny, the Reploid receptionist of Resonant Records. Unfortunately, his idea of flirting is making faces through the soundbooth window to make her laugh, and Jenny isn’t really getting the hint.

Kandy Kat has never had a relationship last longer than two hours. She herself laughs at the idea of being tied down on a permanent basis. But that one X sure did leave a mark…

Dark identifies as Pure Evil™. He has no love interest - only lackeys and minions and Shade Fox.
