just a reminder about 44,000 users' response to that revolting "top Tumblrista" idea:
collectively, 62.7% of this site some version of absolutely not. only 1.8% of respondents liked the panel idea. @staff trying to blindside us and push this out is disgusting
I have provided feedback on their support https://www.tumblr.com/support
Both of their posts in the comments section. Their first one, Tumblr's own Tumblr And their second one, Change
Also, their Twitter account, their Instagram and Bluesky!
They really should get to know how we feel about this update.
Chat, it took like, less than a day for this thing to be reversed. Less than a day.

i sign up for the panel. i make it on the panel.
i immediately throw the panel in the trash and torch it.
I didn’t actually get on the hellsite during The Update Incident where (judging by the posts ive seen) the whole place got temporarily downgraded to superhell, and boy oh boy.
what.
i leave for one day and when i return and the vibes are in shambles,,,,
hey im angry about the tumblr panel thingy too, how do i send feedback?
you can send feedback by submitting a support ticket here (click 'contact support'), or by replying to/reblogging the post announcing the panel. i'm glad you asked this, because i'm seeing a depressing amount of capitulation of the 'but at least they're listening guys!' and 'you're all whiny babiiiies this is a step in the right direction' variety. they're not, and it isn't. the overwhelming majority of people replied to their poll stating they did not want this change. right after Reblog Gate happened countless users warned for us not to let our guard down, because this wouldn't be the last stupid change Tumblr tried to implement. the issue with this panel is a sample bias nightmare wherein hand-picked users will be given priority for their thoughts over the rest of the userbase, and then can be blamed when the changes don't go well.
@staff were not interested in listening to us until the feedback was so overwhelmingly negative it was getting outside attention, and it is the same now.
...by hand-selecting a panel of yes-people who agree with our vision as to what features Tumblr should have, so when the inevitable backlash hits we can point at them and go, "But you said you wanted this so we are absolved!" 💀💀💀
