3 9 and 11 for the mun questions!
QUESTIONS FOR MUNS. 3. whose writing has impacted your writing style the most? (you can choose anyone! famous writer or not.)
So the unfortunate thing is that for as much as I write, I don't actually read all that much; certainly not enough to really say that I have any particular author(s) that I take as inspiration.
Though if I have to say there's a standard I strive for, it's probably George Orwell.
9. when you look at a new blog, what is it that makes you press the follow button? is it the muse, the aesthetics, the writing–?
Truthfully? It comes down to two questions:
Do I think this muse will work with my muses?
Do I think this mun will write with me?
I have to admit that I'm usually not here to admire other people's writing, or to read fanfic; I'm here to write interactions of my own and my dash is usually specifically tailored to people that I hope to do so with.
Unfortunately, this does mean that if I think the mun is too intimidating, standoffish, rude, etc. (based solely on the blog's aesthetics, their rules pages, and ooc posts--you absolutely do judge books by their covers, and I'm not going to pretend I don't) then I probably won't follow.
11. describe your ideal outcome/endgame for the muse you are currently writing. if you are a multimuse blog: do this for your current favorite muse, or the muse of the last reply you posted.
I've mentioned throughout this blog that Giovanni doesn't really have a "Good End." He makes peace with his role in society as at best a chaotic entity and at worst a criminal terrorist and he enjoys life to the fullest, but strictly speaking, he's not happy with this life and hates the fact that he's so damn good at being evil.
Rewind the tapes--before Team Rocket, before the war...
Had he chosen to move to Sinnoh and disregard the chaos in his home region, maybe he'd be happy.
Ha. Ha. Quite a ongoing theme we have, isn't it?
(unintended text meme)
TXT: [Image: a blurry and off center photo of a one eared Pikachu chasing a blurry blob of brown. Maybe an Eevee?] The torment continues
TXT: Sorry wrong number ignore
Send my Muse a text that wasn’t meant for them.
The evolution of technology to a point where constant communication is not only possible but expected was a mistake.

May liked to pride herself on being a good traveler. She liked to think she knew how to follow trails and get herself where she needed to go in a relatively reasonable amount of time.
Today, though, was proving to be her undoing, and she sighed a little as she stared down of the Kanto map in front of her. How had she gotten so turned around trying to get to Saffron City?
"Ugh, sorry Flash, I guess we'll have to set up camp before it - Flash?"
Dammit, not again.
"Flash, no, don't bother anyone! I'm so sorry for him!" she said, following the Raichu as he approached another trainer curiously.

Every Red drops something absolutely horrific in The Red Group Chat and everyone else just nods bc like. Yup that's just how the mountain is, that's normal

Ree is out on the beach today, with a wimpod tucked under their arm. They look a bit run ragged, but they’re smiling — and at the sight of the familiar man, the kid waves a hand.
“— hey! Long time no see. What are you doin’ out here again?”

It had been a few months since Ash had seen his older brother. But in the few months, things had definitionally changed. Not so much physically, but it was obvious that there were more of a hint of confidence with Ash that there wasn’t before. In the past few months since seeing his brother, Ash had matured, gained confidence. He was excited to tell his brother all about these changes, too.
Pikachu, too, was excited to show off his own change. He was starting in the early stages of becoming a service pokemon, something that was working more and more towards Ash’s favor as he went through the necessary processes.
And of course, Ash wanted to boast about his boyfriends, the awkward period with Gary smoothing out.
As soon as Ash saw the figure in the distance, his confidence radiated more then it had in ages. “Reddy!” Ash shouts, rushing towards the older male. He’s eager to see him, just as Pikachu is eager to chatter about being a service pokemon to the other.
🖍️ ✏️ 📏 ☕ for the artist asks!
🌼Artist Ask meme!🌼 🖍️ When did you start drawing? Do you remember?
answered here! but i will add on that i was laughing at my 2004 self for being a fucking Idiot and trying to draw in the car, but...
that was also where i started trying to draw in 2018, so i guess i've really just been stupid all along.
✏️ Do you prefer traditional art or digital to relax?
Digital.
......
ASSUMING MY FUCKING COMPUTER WORKS.
📏 What’s your go-to canvas size?
Uhhh my canvas is set to default to 1988 pixels wide and 3056 high.
This is a carry-over back from back when I was trying to do web comics, and I usually only bother to change it if I want landscape.
That, and a lot of the icons I draw are drawn on a 100x100 canvas to force myself to remain within the boundaries of the task.
☕ Do you do warmup sketches before drawing? (Bonus: do you have any to share?)
nope lmao. I'm well aware that you're supposed to do so but I never got into the habit of doing it.
Note for anyone unaware because it took me years to learn: It's a common misconception that a 'warm-up' sketch is just some loose sketch to get the brain working, but in reality it's supposed to emphasize muscle control and prevent strain on the wrist, just like warming up for a sport.
If you get excessive pain when doing art (without the existence of some other condition) you're probably not warmed up properly or in a bad position.
