Do you want to read a classic story written by a woman author, with a smart, sexy, and competent POC woman as the protagonist - a woman who treats the men in her life at least as well as they treat her, but still always puts herself first? A story full of polyam coding, with plenty of romance - interracial and otherwise - and a sex-positive outlook? And there's some pretty spicy stuff in here too, just saying. Oh yeah, and how refreshing is it to have a female protagonist who, the one time it comes up, just gets an abortion right away and wastes no time at all mooning over whether she should or not? Girl knows what she wants and goes for it - who doesn't love that? This masterpiece had a huge influence on everything that came after it, though there's all sorts of puritans trying to censor it these days - society really does hate women, amirite? But nevermind that, you can still find the original online pretty easy even if they won't put it in a bookstore anymore. Just watch out - it's got a nasty cliffhanger at the end that'll leave you desperate to read the sequel, too!
