Fic: you never give me your money

Summary: alternate universe where Jim is significantly more violent than he was in reality and George Martin adopts Paul while Lennon/McCartney attempt very messily to sort out their feelings.
Why I Like It:
- It's in my favorite genre: break things enough that the characters are forced to fix them.
- it courageously tackles Paul's money/class issues which are not even close to discussed enough in fandom or scholarship
- it forced me to look at my own self-concept in a way that was actually a huge breakthrough for me
- the descriptions of emotion displayed through physicality are so incredibly real
- the dynamics between so many of the Beatles family are really taken seriously and given real time and attention to which is difficult to accomplish
- the mclennon of it all, while not the focus of the story, is so incredibly in character. There is so much love between those two and it really shines in the story
