8. If you had to write an entire story without either action or dialogue, which would you choose and how would it go?
Well, this would be Entirely Cursed if I did this, but I feel like I’d rather write without action than without dialogue. I don’t entirely adhere to the “show, don’t tell” belief. Also, plays are often largely written on dialogue and a play but make it a novel would be fun and sexy.
15. Do you write in the margins of your books? Dog-ear your pages? Read in the bath? Why or why not? Do you judge people who do these things? Can we still be friends?
I don’t typically writing in the margins of my books, but I have historically done the rest of these things. I think it depends on the book and your philosophy around them. I have a background that led me to study medieval texts – and let me tell you, the most interesting ones were ones with marginalia. I think there’s something so… Human and insightful in people who show how they loved their books. Like the story has a story. I like that, I think it’s romantic.
19. Tell me a story about your writing journey. When did you start? Why did you start? Were there bumps along the way? Where are you now and where are you going?
I’ve been telling stories my whole life, and writing them for as long as I was able to hold a pencil to do so. I think I felt... unheard my whole life, and I needed to escape, so I built my own friends in writing. It’s evolved into something else. As far as bumps along the way… Well, my desire to share my stories with the world has historically not ended well. People have been unkind to me, from an early age about my writing. No one cared what I had to say, or they made fun of me for writing, or – worst of all – told me I was a good writer but they’d never want to read it again. I no longer write for the validation of others, though it’s nice to know occasionally I’m not screaming into the great nothing. I would love to be an actual published author that made a few people go feral over my writing. I would love to be to others what some of my favourite authors were to me: a way to feel safe and seen in a world that didn’t seem to care.

31. 3 random facts
1) You know that generic question kids are often asked? If you could sit at a table with anyone from around the world from any time, who would it be? I always had two consistent answers every time I was asked. George Washington and my dad.
I picked George Washington because he had a large role in shaping my nation and I wanted to meet someone who helped established the place I call home. I also picked my dad because I wanted to meet him and be able to have one conversation with him.
2) I don't know who Kurapika is, but he's adorable and I have declared him my card son. You can't tell me he's NOT a card cosplayer when he's dressing like THIS
I have never seen an episode of Hunter x Hunter in my life but I would die for him.
3) My idea of a relaxing game is one where I can explore an open world and kill enemies. I love Fallout and Elder Scrolls for this reason. These games are my go to games when I want to relax for a bit. Apparently my friends couldn't understand how I find these games relaxing, but it goes both ways. I struggle to see how games like Mario is relaxing. It stresses me out a lot :(
