Not the art I typically post on my blog, but I just bought this one-of-a-kind tote bag from Ransack Leather, based in Chicago. The construction is amazing and made from a vintage prayer mat and reclaimed leather. I've been trying to invest more in local artists and one of a kind quality pieces. I can't wait until it gets here!

"Oversized, stylish, comfortable, sturdy, handmade, one of a kind, and environmentally friendly. I seriously can’t express how much I love making these velvet totes. I’m always so excited to see how they turn out- it’s really hard to tell until the very end when I tie on the finishing touch- the tassels 🖤. This extra large beauty is made from a gorgeous patterned reclaimed velvet prayer mat. I just love this design and I couldn’t be more excited about how it came out. The colors are so cool together- maroon, black, white & yellow. It looks like there are little eyes on this one! The material of the prayer mat is not a slick and smooth velvet, but more of a matte cotton terry. It’s soft, sturdy & resilient. Fully lined with interior pockets, a large exterior phone pocket, zip top, reinforced base and double studded & stamped straps. The leather trim used on the edges and back pocket is all reclaimed. Tied on tassels can be removed if desired. This big stunner is perfect for an overnight or weekend getaway, an airline carry-on or just a big giant tote. Dimensions: 22” across top, 16” high, 14” x 6” base. 25” straps."
