Enjin gonna be one of the best anime characters I’ve ever seen.

There have been many characters that fit his description- sometimes they’re plain, egotistic, overly confident. I’m not here to praise him he just feels and acts so human. So very much human. He has a great sense of humour. He’s not solely a ray of sunshine/full green flag like Tanjiro and Rengoku (he did say something along the lines of ‘women forgiving him easily’ or something). He’s inbetween. He knows where or who to trust, he gives people a chance but not without fully earning it. He has honestly the right amount of personality, discipline, and character.

The way the creator draws him and the others- HILARIOUS. Art style top tier!

One part in the manga is when he’s driving and he said that he (I think) purposeful drives recklessly to keep everyone up but blames the road vs Gris who drives gently- so funny to me.

For once I’m not seeing a character to just show off, is OP, and good looking. He a mix of both. He’s hot- yes, I’m guilty- but he’s also a great example of a male edgy character done right.

Series so good, I couldn’t even wait for the next episode to drop and dipped to the manga (I’m ch.90 rn). The world, the plot, the characters makes it SOOO alive. The team getting hurt- me thinking they’re getting up 10x stronger only for them to falter makes me love it even more. There is this sense of unexpectancy as I read the manga- is it gonna get serious or funny?!? And don’t get me started at the diversity- CHILD! As a long time black manga reader, seeing black people in a fantasy, cool themed series really hits home. Something I really wanted to read for nearly a decade.

The last anime I watched that forced me to read it’s Manga was demon slayer. This series is killing me, the creator really outdid herself with this one (her first manga too!?!) I should’ve started reading the moment I saved a pin on Pinterest of Enjin and Semiu nearly a year ago.

(Idk if anyone knows what I mean 🤷🏾‍♀️ I’m just hopping we can all enjoy this Mary poppin’s ahh-character)

Anime I Watched in 2022: Part 3

21. Summertime Rendering 1,000,000/10

Anime of the year award goes to this masterpiece. This show was so severely overlooked that it should be considered a crime against humanity. This was the best time travel anime I’ve ever watched. The MC was so incredibly smart that it was such a breath of fresh air. Every time you think you understand the plot BAM something unexpected happens. Folks if you haven’t watched this as yet please, please, please give it a watch.

22. The Deer King 4/5

I know a lot of people said that this plot was predictable and the movie was bland but I absolutely loved it. The characters were so endearing that you just fell in love. The animation was stunning and the soundtrack was lovely. Also that doctor looked so much like Xie Lian that I almost cried.

23. Cyberpunk Edgerunners 3.5/5

Urghhh. *SPOILERS AHEAD* Everyone loved it. I wanted to love it. The problem was he was warned so many times about overusing his equipment to the point where I knew he wasn’t to live at the end. Even the communication between him and Lucy was so painful to watch. Their story could’ve gone so much better if they’d only communicated with each other. Props to the studio for the top class animation as well as a killer soundtrack but even that wasn’t enough to make me like this series.

24. Magi 4/5

This one has nostalgia all over it. It reminded me of the anime I looked at when I just got into anime. The characters were all so well done and the development was perfect. The plot was somewhat predictable but again nostalgia made up for it. I heard the manga gets better so I’ll definitely check that out

25. Cautious Hero 5/5

This is a perfect example of how to do a comedy anime right. You never knew where the plot was heading. The comedic timing of the FMC was just right and the jokes never got repetitive or tiresome. When you think it’s just comedy the tragic plot slaps you in the face bring you back to reality that the world is a cold dead place. But seriously everyone should watch this to understand how a comedy anime should be done.

26. The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting 5/5

Ahhhh this was just kawaii!!!! No more explanation needed. Just a dangerously hot guy Babysitting his boss’s daughter. Folks enjoy!

27. Yuri on Ice infinity/10

This show called me single, sad and lonely in so many different languages. I went into this one completely blind and I was hooked from the intro. I’m not kidding, when I saw the intro for the first time I burst into tears; don’t ask me why and don’t get me started about the ending. The animation in this was smooth, the storyline: gripping, the romance: superb. I heard a movie is in the works so I’m absolutely looking forward to that

28. Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon 4/5

This is where I’m reminded of my mother’s words of don’t judge a book by its cover or in this case an anime by its name. This kept showing up as a recommended for me to watch but I kept ignoring it until boredom got the best of me. While the plot was not perfect, the animation, ost and characters made up for it.

29. Romantic Killer 5/5

When I tell you that I laughed out loud with this one I sincerely mean it. Holy shit this one caught me off guard. I think this was probably the only anime I binged in one sitting; it was that good. A lot of critics said the plot was predictable but nuts to them because I had no idea what was going on. I was too busy trying to get oxygen back to my brain from laughing so much. My favorite thing about this show was that there was absolutely no ecchi scenes! Just a regular high school girl trying to live her regular reclusive life.

30. Raven of the Inner Place 5/5

I don’t know what drew me into giving this one a chance but whatever it was I’d like to thank them. This was another hidden gem for this year. A mysterious plot, intriguing characters, LOTS of angst, combined with a touch of barely there romance made a crave for more each week. I really, really hope we get another season because it’s cruel to end it where they did.

So… just finished season 3 of haikyuu… its taken me since october 24th to July 7th to actually get here bc of school, but im a little sad, cause Tendo is definitely, and has been since i found out about him and bokuto, one of my top 3 fav characters. To say the least tendo, kenma, and bokuto are all of my favorites. and that definitly also makes season 2 and 3 my favorites bc of all 3 of them.

I really don’t have a lot of followers and certainly not a whole lot of active ones BUT could I get some of y’all to recommend some anime for me? I trust tumblr to respond more than my actual friends. ALSO SOMEBODY TELL ME IS VIOLET EVERGARDEN WORTH MY TIME???

Sports anime rec list (not mentioning obvious ones)

1. Haikyuu (volleyball)

Both the anime and fandom have depth and are awesome, plus some good old rivalries with awesome pro/antagonists. Love all the characters and rooted for all the teams.

Centred around Hinata Shouyo whos a midget that falls in love with volleyball but doesn’t have a team until high school and his journey with his teammates to try and get to the nationals. They face many difficult opponents and make friends along the way.

2. One outs (baseball)

A real psychological sports anime with the main character being awesome and messin with peoples minds in such a way that you can’t help but love him. No need to know about how to play baseball, still an amazing anime.

PROBABLY MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE ANIME.

Tokuchi Toua is a gambler that is amazing at reading people and also plays a street game called one outs. He has never lost a single match until he gets roped into playing baseball for a team. Chaos ensues as he thrashes every team they encounter with awesome plays. A very subtle evil character, brilliant anime.

3. Yowamushi Pedal (cycling)

The characters have depth and are lovable and the anime keeps making you come back and want to find out what happens next. Super interesting concept and well done so it’s incredibly cool, highly recommend.

4. Eyeshield 21 (american football)

With 145 this ones a super long one but simply AMAZING. The characters develop and its funny but still has action. Again I love all the characters and all the teams (though I do have favourites). There are brilliant rivalries and so mny close calls + multiple story arcs make it more interesting with breaks from games.

Sena Kobayakawa has ran from bullies and been a gopher his whole life until Deimon Devil Bats’ captain, Hiruma Yoichi (my fav character in Eyeshield 21, love him, too great), sees him running and recruits his speed into helping their team of 3 get to the Christmas Bowl. They gradually get more members and become a dark horse in the tournament (although everyone accepted that Hiruma is the best QB).

The sport is a little confusing at first but after a couple of their games you get to understand it.
