"Y/N!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Bucky yells at you for the 10th time in 5 minutes.

"Nothing sergeant!" You yell back. "I'm workin' what does it look like I'm doing." You whisper the last part to yourself but he heard you clearly.

"COME. HERE. NOW!" He demands crossing his big arms across his chiseled chest.

"Yes, Sergeant Barnes?" You mimic his demeanor.

"I'm not in the mood for your sassy attitude today! Quit calling me Sergeant and do as you're fuckin' told!" He's inches from your face and really you shouldn't piss him off but you can't help the smirk.

"Yes, Sergeant Barnes." Bucky throws his hands up in the air and he honestly wants to rip his own head off. You're not doing anything he's asked, he's given you a simple task and you're sat on the floor filing your nails.

"Don't push your luck!" He threatens, his eyebrows furrowing. He means business and you love getting under his skin.

"Or what, Sergeant Barnes?" You ask seductively, licking your bottom lip and you notice his eyes dilute and flicker from your lips to your eyes.

"Get back to work!" He pulls away from you and you chuckle, annoying him even more.

"Sir, yes Sir!" You salute behind his back and he tuts.

"I heard that."

"I'm glad your hearing is up to scratch Sergeant Barnes."

"Alright. THAT'S FUCKIN IT." Bucky turns suddenly, having enough of your sassy cheeky attitude and disobeying his orders, he lifts you over his shoulder and carries you out of the room

"You have a disobedient issue. I'm gonna teach you a lesson in listening to what I say!" He says as he makes it just in time to the elevator.

 Neither of you thought you were destined to meet on a battlefield.

Time slowed down, minutes seemed like hours, the sound of bullets being shot and bullets hitting their target was like a mere blurry background noise; it was a special kind of torture. Mccree thought himself to be the only one suffering. But you were too.

With each passing day the red thread on your pinky had untangled more and more... His, too. It was impossible not to notice. The day of you meeting your soulmate came near, faster than you'd like it to be. Of all the possible places, situations, and people it had to be him. The enemy.

Neither of you thought you were destined to meet on a battlefield.

Blood, dirt and sweat graced your face, the new uniform torn in places bullets had almost cut your flesh. A new recruit, at the end of their strength and stamina, run out of ammunition. The worst start into a new job one could have imagined.

And there he was, the experienced Talon agent, standing right in front you. Clothes baked in blood which wasn't his. The six shooter in his hand loaded and ready to fire, the barrel only inches away from your head. You and him were nothing short of enemies. Killing you would propably earn him praise from his superiors, maybe even a payrais for getting rid of one of the most promising newcomers.

But he never shot.

You asked yourself why at first, but then your eyes traveled down to the one single red thread connecting you two, untangled, stalwart, glowing bright red.

Neither of you thought you were destined to meet on a battlefield, but here you were, two soulmates having found each other.

Bucky Barnes x recruit!reader who gets into so much shit

Trouble

As a recruit you took your job seriously, you kept your head down and did your work. That was until you met Bucky, a rank or two above you.

The two of you became mischievous, and that's why you were in the kitchen next to Bucky snickering as he poured hot sauce on Sam's cooked breakfast and mixed it in as Sam left momentarily to grab his phone for his music.

"I thought recruits had their own kitchen?" Sam questions walking back in none the wiser.

"She's with me." Bucky answers for you, Sam looking between the two of you. He knew you both very well and knew you were capable to pranking and getting to a ton of shit together. Just last week you were messing around with Bucky in Tony's lab where he kept his suits and Bucky was swinging you around, your foot knocked an expensive suit over and before Tony got back, you booked it out of there.

Shrugging your shoulders, you lean against the cupboard door and sip your coffee. Watching him as he took a forkful of his scrambled eggs, eyes lighting up as he chewed it and spat it out on the marble counter, a laugh leaves your mouth and you high five Bucky. Sam glares at the two of you, "I'M GONNA KILL YOU TWO!"

"Quick! Run!" You grab onto Bucky's hand, his speed making you run a little faster than usual, wondering what else and who else you could bother.

The loose ends were tied in an incredibly tight knot and the realisation was hurting

A few tears leaked from your eyes and you laughed a little to try and stave off any more from falling. “Thank you, Wanda. I’m not sure of anyone has said that to you yet. I know I haven’t and I’m sorry, but thank you for everything you’ve done. You’re doing such a great job now. Everyone is so proud of you.”

Maria wondered if you understood how lucky you were to have a guardian who cared so much about you to have directly threatened the Avengers without any care to her personal safety.

The Spy didn’t respond, though she was quietly appreciative of the gesture. “Just look after her.” Your sister left out ‘because I can’t’.
