Seong Gi-hun//Player 456
Gi-hun as a dad… girl… he’s a mix between “the class clown at PTA meetings” + “trauma-ridden man with chronic guilt syndrome” + “trying desperately to be better than his own father ever was.” 😭
He’s the type of dad who… in theory… thinks he’s gonna be super responsible… but in reality… he’s an absolute walking disaster.
---
Dynamic with you (the reader):
He loves you. In this messy, chaotic, but very real way.
From the pregnancy days, he was the guy crying at the first ultrasound, freaking out while picking baby clothes, probably buying a changing table he doesn’t even know how to assemble.
He’s constantly hovering over you like:
“Do you want me to bring you something? Fruit? Water? Should I massage your feet? Wait… do I even know how to do that?”
(Spoiler: he doesn’t lol.)
But once the baby is born… chaos officially begins.
---
Gi-hun with a newborn:
- KING of panic attacks.
He holds the baby like it’s made of glass.
If the baby makes even the smallest weird noise at 3 AM?
He’s shaking you awake like:
“Are they breathing? Wait—are they breathing?? Babe? LOOK—ARE THEY BREATHING??”
And you’re like:
“Gi-hun… it’s three in the freaking morning…”
But despite the paranoia…
He’s there… rocking the baby, singing stupid little songs, making up dumb rhymes.
When the baby cries for hours?
He cries too. Literally.
“Why are they crying? I’m trying… I swear I’m trying…”
So now you have TWO babies to calm down: the actual newborn… and Gi-hun himself 😭
---
Gi-hun with a toddler (2-5 years old):
This is his peak “parent-who-plays-more-than-the-kid” phase.
Lying on the floor to play with toy cars, building block castles, letting the kid ride on his back like a horse…
At birthday parties?
He’s the adult who’s inside the bouncy castle with the kids… getting yelled at by the staff.
He’s super protective but still lets the kid climb trees… and then panics the whole time watching from below.
If the kid throws a tantrum?
Gi-hun’s just as dramatic.
You’re the only rational one in the household.
“No, babe… we can’t give them ice cream at 10 PM…”
“But… look at that little face… how am I supposed to say no…?”
Spoiler: He gives the ice cream anyway… secretly.
---
Gi-hun and the trauma:
There are days when he freezes…
Nights when he wakes up sweating from nightmares.
You’ll find him on the balcony sometimes… staring into the distance, smoking, with that empty expression.
He’ll never tell you the details… but you know.
You know there’s pain behind the goofy smiles.
Fear of being a bad dad…
Fear of failing his child…
Fear of repeating past mistakes.
In moments like that, you just hug him from behind and whisper:
“You’re here… and that’s already more than a lot of people.”
And he melts… every time.
---
Gi-hun and school events:
He shows up to EVERY school meeting.
He’s the dad screaming from the bleachers at soccer games.
Makes posters for science fairs.
Will 100% fight other parents if needed.
He texts you random photos from the playground like:
"Our baby’s growing up so fast 😭😭😭"
---
Summary of Gi-hun as a dad:
Messy
Emotional
Overprotective
Slightly irresponsible… but with the purest heart
Randomly kisses you while holding the baby in one arm
Makes dumb promises like:
“When they grow up… we’re ALL going to Disneyland… I swear.”
With all his flaws…
At the end of the day… he’s the kind of dad that makes you look at him and think:
Hyun-ju as a mom is that whole “powerful queen, fiercely protective boss babe, but also super sweet and sensitive when it counts.” She’s been through a lot, and that shapes how she parents.
---
Dynamic with you (the reader):
She sees you as her partner and best friend—someone who’s there for everything but knows when to set boundaries.
During the pregnancy, Hyun-ju was all about self-care, reading up on everything, making sure the baby’s environment was perfect.
She’s involved in every detail but never loses her poise.
No one messes with you or the baby on her watch.
Always protective, always solid.
---
Hyun-ju with a newborn:
She’s super practical and knows exactly what to do, but that doesn’t mean she lacks warmth.
Not the type to cry in the nursery, but intense in her care.
She can tell if the baby’s crying from hunger, tiredness, or a dirty diaper—and acts fast.
She’s got a rhythm with the baby, calm but always present.
---
Hyun-ju with a toddler (2-5 years old):
This is where her “mama bear” side shines hard.
She’s fierce—anyone who messes with her kid better be ready for a showdown.
But she also knows how to have fun, making up games, telling stories, and turning the house into a safe, loving space.
She teaches her kid to be strong, to stand up for themselves, and never hide.
---
Hyun-ju and trans motherhood:
Hyun-ju is super mindful about teaching her kid respect and authenticity.
She talks openly about diversity, empathy, and courage.
She teaches that the most important thing is to always be true to yourself.
---
Hyun-ju and challenges:
She faces the world with grit, but some days she feels tired, insecure, reflecting on her past and the kid’s future.
Still, she never lets anyone see her weakness.
She’s a fortress you can lean on.
---
Hyun-ju at school and community:
She’s the mom who goes to every meeting, talks to teachers, and fights to make sure her kid has the best possible environment.
She’s involved in social causes, showing her kid the importance of standing up for what’s right.
Ah… Myung-gi… 😭 the ultimate “tired, anxious man with lowkey guilt complex and low self-esteem but secretly the biggest heart ever under layers of nerves.”
As a dad? A mix of overthinking + anxiety + genuine love he doesn’t know how to show properly.
---
Dynamic with you (the reader):
You’re the emotional center of the relationship… because Myung-gi… is always freaking out.
From the second you said “I’m pregnant,” he entered full-blown existential crisis mode.
“What if I mess this kid up? What if I’m a terrible dad? Should I go to therapy? Should I make more coffee?”
Spoiler: He made the coffee.
He googled everything:
Parenting tips
How to change diapers
“10 ways to avoid traumatizing your child”
He insisted on building the crib himself…
Cried halfway through…
You had to finish it 😭
---
Myung-gi with a newborn:
He’s the dad who stays awake all night just to make sure the baby is breathing.
He doesn’t sleep. He observes.
Makes feeding charts.
Tracks every diaper change.
Creates a sleep graph.
If the baby hiccups… he thinks it’s some rare syndrome.
“Babe… what if it’s serious? Should we go to the hospital?”
You: “Myung-gi… it’s just a hiccup…”
But despite the panic… he’s so gentle.
Holds the baby like they’re the most precious thing in the world.
---
Myung-gi with a toddler (2-5 years old):
He tries to be the fun dad… but he’s a disaster.
Tries to build blanket forts… but knocks them down.
Tries to do funny voices… but gets too shy halfway.
He cries secretly when the kid draws their first family picture.
Keeps EVERYTHING:
First letter
First flower they picked for him
First stick-figure drawing
He has a secret box full of these memories.
---
Myung-gi and the trauma:
He carries a lot of guilt.
So much shame from his past.
Nightmares.
Feels like an impostor… like he doesn’t deserve this life with you and the baby.
Some days he shuts down… gets quiet… distant.
You have to remind him that he’s a good dad. That he’s breaking the cycle.
And when you say that… he cries. For real.
Hugs you tight.
Keeps repeating:
“Thank you… thank you for not giving up on me…”
---
Myung-gi and sweet moments:
He loves holding the kid in his arms while playing soft music.
Loves giving little forehead kisses.
Packs overly elaborate lunchboxes (even if the kid just wants plain cheese sandwiches).
He’s the dad who puts cute notes in the lunchbox:
“Daddy loves you. Have a great day ❤️”
---
Myung-gi at school:
Goes to every parent-teacher meeting, nervous with a tiny notebook to jot down EVERYTHING.
Stutters when speaking to teachers.
Feels intimidated by other parents.
But at the end of the day… he looks at you and says:
“We’re doing okay… right?”
And you reply:
“We’re doing great.”
---
💗 Summary of Myung-gi as a dad:
Anxious
Overly worried
Super careful
Awkwardly affectionate but 100% genuine
Cries over everything
Constantly scared of messing up… but loves more than he can say
Deep down… one of the most dedicated dads you’ll ever meet.
The charitable organisation was founded in 1756 by the philantrophist Jonas Hayman to take in destitute boys and men of good character, provide them with food and lodging and then send them to the Royal Navy and later also to the India Companies. These boys and men were not only given food and lodging, they were also given education or even training in the dockyards, which made them more desirable for service than the pressed, mostly uneducated, men from the streets and prisons.
Bowl : 'For the Service of our Country'. Behind her three boys change into new seaman's clothes, one with a speech bubble: 'Marine Society', 1756-1760 (x)
In 1763 this society was almost dissolved as it ran out of money, but in 1769 a large donation enabled it to continue. In 1772, Parliament intervened and continued to pay the society, but demanded that it only train and clothe men and boys for the navy and the merchant associations.
Commemorative medal presented to Jonas Hanway by the Marine Society :
Obverse: Within a circle Britannia, her spear and shield laid aside, standing instructing a ragged youth (right), a building behind, naval gear (left) and inscription, 'Presented by the Marine Society to Jonas Hanway Esq. as a Token of the High Sense they Entertain of his Public Spirit in Proposing & Methodizing & his Unwearied Assiduity in the Execution of this Design.' Reverse: A foul anchor in centre and inscription: 'The Marine Society Instituted in London July 1756 During the War with France & Spain Clothed & Fitted out by Voluntary Subscriptions for the Service of the Royal Navy 5452 Landmen as Seamen & 4787 Boys to be Bred Seamen and Provided for all the Boys who Applyd (sic) to them After the War Ended in 1762.' (x)
In 1786, the organisation even acquired and ran its own training ships, like the Warspite. In total, the company is said to have brought about 110,000 men into the service.
The Warspite returning to Spithead from her voyage round the World, July 28 1827 (x)
This tasks continued until the Second World War. After the war, the ships were abolished and the company devoted itself more to scholarship tasks, i.e. it helped men with little or no money to obtain a seafaring education and thus financed these men. This society still exists today and still makes scholarships possible.
