I know a lot of people love the parallels between Red/Kitty and Hyde/Jackie, mostly in the context of Red/Hyde and Kitty/Jackie each sharing some similarities. But one thing I don't see a lot of people mention are the things Kitty and Hyde have more in common vs. things that Red and Jackie have more in common that would translate into H/J later on in life in marriage or as parents. Here's some observations I've noticed! ☝️🤓
Kitty/Hyde Similarities:
Talented at cooking
The calmer/more patient partner
More likely to listen and give someone reasonable advice
More liberally minded
Stay-at-home parent energy (I know Kitty and Hyde both have careers that they love, but I definitely see them as the parent more involved with day-to-day kid stuff)
Would never forget an important date (to be fair, I don't think Jackie would forget important dates either - unlike Red who forgot his wife's birthday - but I could see her getting distracted or delayed by other things)
Red/Jackie Similarities:
While Red seems to enjoy grilling, Kitty is obviously superior at cooking (and we all know Jackie can't cook or bake for shit)
The shorter-tempered partner
More likely to give inflexible advice that applies mostly to their worldview
More conservative minded
Breadwinner energy (I know Red was unemployed briefly, but it's pretty clear that being a provider for his family is a role he values)
Love of Corvettes (Jackie mentions wanting to go look at the new Corvettes in 1x16)
There are probably more things but this is a list I cooked up for fun to start.
Kitty’s burns were absolutely iconic, especially when directed towards Red 🤣
