This stuff is subject to change but! More on naming conventions. This is a long one, whoopss XD
As I mentioned earlier (I'll link it in a second), during SL, Red Steves getting names were special, rare occasions. I imagine it having to do with their love of knowledge; being named gave you the privilege of being someone who was known, I guess.
Anyway, due to Void forcing the Red Steves from their home, a lot of recorded history and stuff was lost in the crossfire and evacuation. When they finally got recording history back onto their list of priorities, Red Steves were more conscious about preserving individuals. Hence, naming steves once they reach adulthood/graduation after something notable about them. It does leave names as something of a badge of honour though (more names = more notable as a person).
Orange Steves, having one of the higher populations, have a few different ways of picking names. That being said, the one that Clemens and Lucian came from used personality identifiers for formal names. Others use physical identifiers or chosen craft (which at creation means they're either unnamed or take on their caretakers' craft until they're old enough to choose otherwise).
"True"/First names for Orange Steves are either orange based or whatever speaks to the Caretaker/s the most. Inigo is one such name (I picked it for the meaning fire, but it has other meanings, I think).
There's no yellow text option, bear with me chat.
Yellow Steves generally follow title or physical traits for formal names. "True"/First names are usually something yellow related, but can also be related to stuff Yellow Steves value, such as gold, jewels, anything that means beauty/beautiful, or (in rare cases) family business merchandise.
Royals (the Queens/Kings/Rulers) have a different formal name convention relating to their title. They are the Yellow Ruler, yes, but during their reign, they get a moniker. For example: Aalto is the Nightmare King, Sunny is the Bright King, Sunny's father is the Fair King, and Aalto's grandfather was the Spiteful King.
... Forgive me but I actually haven't developed the Green Steves. AT ALL. They have an emperor and empress, but that is all I have. Why? Because when making these I really really want to make their groups feel like more than just the gimmick assigned to them. Orange Steves are creative and community focused, the Red Steves valuing knowledge has them at odds between preserving the past and progressing into the future. The Yellow Steves aren't just fast, they're an equestrian loving culture with an appreciation for dressing up and bejeweling oneself; The Blue Steves are not just protectors of the afterlife, they're spirits of the souls that lost their unlives, guiding the newcomers; The Violet Steves are connected so deeply they are one individual, which causes conflict between them and the others; Indigo Steves aren't just fishermen, but they sail the middle realm and prioritise time off.
But Green Steves I just can't develop beyond "Nature people" and I don't know why. They clearly have some sort of military, which is why I gave them an emperor and empress, but after that I'm lost!

Blue Steves are just reborn dead Steves, so they get to have whatever name. Their formal names, not that they ever use them, are usually based on role or animal form (yep they get animal forms. Is this a ploy to draw Seer with a tail and ears? ...mayyybeee :3)
Purple Steve names are related to journeying in some aspect, I don't have much for them right now (if I could get myself to finish the remaster of the AU they'd have stuff related to the Ender Dragon or something. Because Minecraft).
And lastly, Pink Steves just kind of have their formal name related to jobs they pick up. They all share one name, though it's not their original. Although they are a hivemind, knowledge does get lost with each members death---they share memories, not experiences, so it's not perfect---and that means they change or forget names from time to time.
