This tank looks so good when I can keep it algae free! Also I swear Finrod is different colors every time I look at him.

“Nah, I’m not going to plant my 7 gallon tank like my others, maybe just like one or two things to keep the nitrates down a bit,” she says, only like 2 weeks before deciding to do a “red tank” and cram it full of red plants, to match the (mostly) red betta and the magenta mystery snails in there as well as the blue one.
Well, now I have red root floaters (ordered them from Han Aquatics and they arrived unsalvageable, got some from my LFS instead and they’re gorgeous. And flowering.) I also have the red dwarf lilies (2-3, I don’t know if the 3rd one will come back after melting) that I already had, and two kinds of stem plants from Han Aquatics. The ludwiga arrived beautiful, but those “Alternanthera Reineckii 'Rosaefolia'” SAID they were red, and the picture was red, and they arrived hot pink. So I’m really mad about that, and about 90% dissatisfied with Han Aquatics as far as plants go after this order. I’m hoping the plants turn more red after being in the tank for a little bit, or else I’m probably going to try to trade them if anyone will take them and get something actually red instead.
Re-scaped the 7 gallon for no reason other than to try to make the betta forget he lived there so he accepts microrasbora tankmates. Snails he’s always been fine with.
So far he’s chased the EDRs a bit, but he’s not flaring and he isn’t even trying to get THAT close? If he doesn’t stop in another day I’ll give up and figure out somewhere else to keep them, but fingers crossed because I think they look great in here!
