“LIVE on WBS this SUNDAY ! The Title Match - Shelby vs “The Champion””

Been meaning to re-draw @davidbaronart’s Shelby in forever. I’ve drawn her years back before in Dave’s original design, he’s redesigned her in increments since then and you obviously see the difference when looking at both art I’ve done (squishy Shelby is best Shelby, Dave.)

Dave and I were actually talking briefly about doing an animated short together and I had designed various boxing athletes for her to fight against, including “The Champion” which Dave suggested a Mike Tyson-ish character. We slowly put the short idea on the shelf by the time I went to work on Bob, and Dave himself is doing freelance work on Mighty Magiswords. Maybe at some point we’ll do something animated together.

Wellp, looks like I have a lot of explaining to do concerning my long, LONG absence, but first things first: this here is a commission I got from @davidbaronart a few weeks ago! You should really get a chance to check out more of his stuff if you haven’t already.

Now that that’s covered, I wanna apologize for not posting anything here for a while; some interesting and exciting things have come up over the past few weeks.

First, I’m happy to report I’m gonna be getting my own place soon! While my folks are gonna be moving to a new place further down the road, I’m gonna be moving to a studio apartment in the complex right across the street from the old place. And with it comes one of the best views of the city without anything blocking the way! a major plus is that I’ll also finally have all the privacy I’ll ever need . 

Second, with that new apartment will have to come a new, legitimate paying job, and I’ve been on a critical job search since this past month. I’m close to getting one with a furniture store-- I’ve had two interviews with the place, and the last step is to get paperwork for a drug test and a background check from them. They haven’t called back about it yet, but here’s hoping and praying that they do. Otherwise it’s back to the old grind. The old....impatient....infuriatingly merciless grind of a job search.

Lastly, I’ve also been helping my brother out with taking care of his wife/my sister-in-law. She had surgery a couple weeks ago, and it’s gonna take until early August for her to get back up and about. So, I’ve been housesitting for them while they were at the hospital, then me and my bro spent time fixing up the place so his wife could have easy access to things without having to move around a lot.

So the weeks have been pretty busy, and I didn’t have a lot of time to draw stuff until recently, but such is life, right? And don’t worry, a steady flow of art will return real soon, I guarantee! Until then, thanks for still sticking around, and stay tuned!
