Cara, 4/20/16, Squat Test Week PR
Well.. another PR in the books on test week! January 2015, I hit a squat PR of 260# at my RPS meet. After that meet I had taken 9+ months off of lifting heavy before last meet prep. Last meet prep I hit a 10# PR of 270# on test week.. but didn’t get to show it at the January 2016 competition. My opener looked awful, and then I missed my second and barely locked out 260# on my third attempt.
Last night 260# was smoked, and I expected to attempt 270# again.. but bossman had different plans. I didn’t ask, just got under the bar and squatted a 10# PR of 280#. Happy, feeling ready for May.
Working Sets:
70% x 1 (185#)
80% x 1 (205#)
85% x 1 (220# w/ RPG 2 wraps)
92% x 1 (240# w/ RPG 2wraps)
97% x 1 (Should have been 255#, made it 260# w/ RPG3 wraps)
102% x 1 (Should have been 265# - but jumped to 280# w/ RPG3 wraps because everything was fast.)
Assistance Work:
Goblet Squats 2 x 20
Leg Extensions 2 x 50
Weighted Panks 3 x 1min.

So basically my favorite thing to do in the gym is deadlifts, oh and squats and benching. But I’m only going to talk about my pulls this week. so here we go!
Started off with my warm ups that I do everyday. Basic exercises to engage the (in Arnold’s voice) abdominals! Thus leading to my main work which were snatch grip deadlifts for, 135, 225, 275, 315, and lastly 335 all for 5 reps staying around an RPE of about 6 6.5. After main work i did some accessories that Della Fave brewed up. A bunch a volume to get my body going again after months of injuries and inconsistent training. But your boy is back! Lastly was some db rows and side bends, 1x25 superset.
my body hates me but its fine cause..... yeah i dont have a cause its just cause.
