Hiking up to Chaladi Glacier, Svaneti, Georgia. Our guide said we were doing a couple of kilometres hike so I didn’t think it would be that difficult - errr! It was about 2 km there uphill all the way! Then we had to scramble over some boulders up to the edge of the glacier where the ice was dripping and rocks occasionally fell off and bounced around. Needless to say - I LOVED IT!!!! This is very much my favourite type of hiking, despite it being difficult to start with. The valley was dramatic, remarkably noisy because of the river with a handful of tourists. Despite low temperatures in Mestia it was pretty warm and beautifully sunny. I ❤️ mountains. They are my favourite landscape (sorry beach).
