“So, you did pretty good last race, Jubi.”
A genuine compliment from Taffyta? Jubileena would have every right to be suspicious. The blonde child wasn’t someone who was in the habit of giving out praise... ever, really; as the self-proclaimed best, Taffyta had almost impossibly high standards, and she certainly wouldn’t waste such words on someone who she didn’t feel deserved it.
Unless she had an ulterior motive.
“It’s just such a shame you drove straight into the path of my power-up. Just think, you might even have won if I hadn’t made you veer off the track and crash...” She carelessly flicked the end of her platinum-blonde hair.
“Oh well, we can’t all be as good as me.”
Gloating. It was always gloating with her.
reHave you ever had one of those weeks that seemed to last months?
Vale had, except try replacing ‘weeks’ with ‘literal months’ and ‘months’ with ‘years.’ Between the new cryptocurrency miner threats (that oft tended to bury themselves into game engines, sit there, and overwork the CPU until you found characters with four heads screaming for mercy); the ever growing trend for people to be completely useless at securing their consoles and servers...
...throw in Meltdown and Spectre, and Vale was just about done.
He hadn’t had a day off in months; he hadn’t seen a single friend in months. He had got in touch with the group who had assigned him to the Arcade in the first place, swore at them a little.
Long story short, they sent people to take over for a while; and he was currently in Sugar Rush enjoying the peace.
His jacket, everpresent, slung over a shoulder as he enjoyed the weather; although strictly speaking it could have been deep snow and he wouldn’t have minded.
He was busy tapping away on his phone, fingers a blur - phone being a strange concept to a program that lived inside bigger programs that themselves were games.
[Vale -> Jubileena] Before I say anything else, I’m going to say I’m sorry. I’ve not been around much.
[Vale -> Jubileena] I’d explain the sort of week I had, but I’m not sure my command of language would do it any sort of justice.
[Vale -> Jubileena] Long story short, I’ve swore at my bosses a lot, and I now have a week off. Are you around today?

Vale was following the path. He had tried asking for directions at least twice, but the first time he got slapped for ‘being a wierdo’-
(”Do you know where the bakery is?” is apparently weird.)
-and the second time... well, he had evaded the local security and nearly caused an inter-game incident.
But none of that had really mattered; he had made it to the Bing Bing Bakery with hide nor hair of the public peace touched.
He wasn’t armoured, this time, having exchanged it for his traditional outfit of his black and blue hoodie - sleeves glowing, as he had completely forgotten how to turn that off - and some basic blue jeans. He looked relatively normal, this time.
(And probably less frightening.)
And with a gentle knock on the door, he waited.
And tried not to get nervous. Not that there was much to be nervous about, but try telling him that.

Grima was getting slightly weary of the teasing the racer was putting him through. He simply was not in the mood for it right now. Eventually, he lost his patience, deciding to give her something that would hopefully tide her over. He grabbed her rough, pushing her up against a wall and catching her lips in a burning, passionate kiss, breaking it after a little while and dropping her.
“Now then, can you let me continue with what I was doing in peace now?”

Finally, the day was done. Robotnik had been beaten down for the last time...for now, anyway. Figuring he would explore the arcade instead of stay here looking at the same little arenas he saw all day every day, he hopped onto the train to Grand Central Station.
Once the train stopped, he hopped off, grumbling to himself. He kind of wished to just go to a different game and stay there- he got bored of the same place, the same moves, the same everything every single day. And he always had to see Sonic at least once a day.
He looked around the place, taking in the names of the other arcade games. He only really knew a few of the other games well, one of which was the racing game his...‘friend’ Eggman came from. Most nights, he actually went to Eggman’s game, but this night, he wasn’t sure where to go.
