Kappa Pin-Up
»— Weird. The blue-card challenge was definitely weird but Kyle wasn’t one to say no to a good game, so he took his bulky wallet (thank you, Casino!) and decides to give his all for the final round of this challenge. He had enough to pay off his debts but first….
Kyle was hesitant to push through with this… this ‘purchase’. This was a Church. A CHURCH! A place of prayer and faith, not of business. He wasn’t the most religious of men, but he did send a prayer or two every now and then to ask for guidance. It was comforting to pretend to talk to someone on the road, too. Unsure as he was if his prayers could be heard, it was unbelievably comforting to know someone could be listening.
He goes to the Church grounds, all too familiar with the place since he makes it a point to visit often. There was a tall woman (even taller than himself!) there with green hair, one he vaguely recalls as someone who always seemed to be around. Perhaps she worked there? “Miss, excuse me?” He approaches her and asks ever-so-casually, “I need something that will make me more appealing for my darling future-husband, the Kappa himself. Can you help me out?”
Working at a church wasn’t the most exciting job. It was mostly just listening to confessions and helping Marina with church things. Aine didn’t know a lot about church even though they were there to worship her. I wonder if it’s the right thing to do. Acting like a human, working. No one’s at the pond. What happens to all the offerings offered when neither of us are there. Most of the time they switched who was at the pond and who was at the church or library, but sometimes they both needed to work at the same time.
Recently, Aine and Marina had been trying to sell some pinup calendars to raise money for the church. Marina protested a bit, but Aine talked her into it. She just didn’t understand why they weren’t selling faster. Harvest Goddesses look like humans and pretty attractive humans, too. Don’t humans like that kind of thing?
Setting up for a ceremony, Aine was approached by a boy with red hair. Hmm? He’s marrying the Kappa? That’s odd. Kappa always seemed to dislike the humans. Well, he disliked almost everything besides cucumbers. Well, good for him! I was always afraid he was lonely in that pond all alone. I guess he was.
“How exciting! I’m so happy for you two! It seems like Kappa has finally come around.~” What could she sell him that would make him more appealing? Maybe flowers.....or a pin-up calendar! I wonder if I can get him to buy one!
“Would you like a rare calendar filled with exclusive photos of yours truly and my sister?” Aine walked over to grab one of the calendars from the pile. She held it up to show the boy.
