What do you plan to do about the cucumber shortage that has been plaguing our fair city?
“…I was not aware of any such shortage. If it is an issue the public would like addressed however, there are a multitude of farms in the area where such produce could be grown to remedy the apparent ‘shortage’. I am sure we need only request the farmers grow more cucumbers.”
How would you react if you came home to find out that a witch or elf set your house on fire? Don’t you think it’s dangerous to let them wander about freely without any sort of control? What are we non-magics supposed to do if someone gets upset and uses magic on us? We could be possessed at any second to even hurt our loved ones!
“I would be very worried about my significant other, the guests currently staying in our home, and our pet. The first action I would take though is alerting the Fire Station of the event so as to prevent as much damage as possible, and then contacting my significant other to ensure she is safe. A magical citizen is no more likely to cause harm than one without magic however. They are all still expected to act in line with the laws the city has set in place. And while there are currently few measures to ensure they are held responsible for actions such as setting homes on fire, that is something I and other candidates can attempt to fix if needed. If someone were to use magic in order to harm another citizen, the act should be reported and from there a solution will be found. If you are worried or feel endangered at current, I suggest investing in preventive and protective measures.”
Would you rather serve one month in jail OR do 72 hours worth of community service where you do odd jobs for citizens? If you choose community service: Then show us that you care by picking up a Request Board! We’ll be watching, after all.
“72 hours of community service, I suppose…”
Does anyone know where these sudden earthquakes are coming from? Maybe it’s the ones with magic trying to cause trouble!
“I do not believe we have any information on what is causing these earthquakes, outside of the scientific explaination for their causes. That aside however, constantly casting blame over one group of citizens for things such as this only lends itself to giving a poor impression of those without magic. There are other sources, both natural and man-made, that could lead to things such as the ground shaking.”
Do you think that prices should be raised all around the city now that the economy seems to be booming?
“That is something for the business owners to decide, we can not force them to raise prices simply because of the city having a strong economy currently. I do believe it would be wise practice for some of the businesses however.”
How do we know that humans aren’t the ones behind all of the fires? Fugue Forest could have been lit up by anyone or anything, but it’s always easier for humans to throw magical folk in the cross-hairs. They could easily be framing it as such to make it easier to commit crimes for their own fun and games. What do you think?
“It is true, we do not know whether or not it was humans setting these fires. I think whoever is starting the fires, regardless to their ability or lack there of when regarding magic, should be held accountable. In order to do that however, we need to find out who they are, and that is something that falls on the city’s police and anyone who can provide information on the matters. Other than that, there is little to say.”
Humans are obviously more dangerous than elves, dwarves, or anyone who happens to have magic. Their greed and paranoia always has them lashing out at every little thing that ever happens in this city. Maybe humans should take more responsibility for the actions of their loudest bad apples, don’t you agree?
“I have said before and will say again, magicals are no more dangerous to the city than those without magic. And the same can be said vice versa. Those without magic are no more dangerous than those with it. We do need to take responsibilty for those who lash out at ones from the other 'group’, however, no side is completely innocent on this matter and you would do well to realize that.”
Both City Hall and the Fire Station have been set on fire by witches! Not to mention apartments where innocents have suffered! We have to stop magical people before they tear this city apart, don’t you agree?! Unless you would prefer to leave them alone and watch more people get hurt!
“There has been no solid evidence that magic was the source of all the fires you have mentioned. It is just as likely there is an arsonist in the city without magic who is commiting these crimes, more likely in fact, given those with magic are assumed the minority. The only thing confirmed to be tearing this city apart is citizens being viciously against one faction of the population.”
People have been “possessed” in the past by magic-users… What will you do if you found out the Mayor or a member of Council was making choices to harm the city while under possession? What would you do to stop the magic-users?
“I would support the notion of impeaching the one being controlled. Actually, if the mayor or someone in the council was actively trying to harm the city, possession or no, I would feel and do the same.”
Do you support Funland’s actions against the city or are you against Funland? Would you tell the city who the CEO is if you found out?
“I am not certain I would say Funland’s actions are inherently against the city in nature. There is such a thing as good intentions but poor practice. That aside, I support what is best for the city. As for if I would reveal their identity if I knew it… It depends on the wishes of the person and if it harms the city to abide by those wishes. Everyone deserves privacy in their lives, despite what the gossip column and various news outlets would like to have you believe.”
I read in the paper that one of you has amnesia. If it’s you, how do you plan on running the city with such a disability? And how do the other candidates feel about it? Do you believe this person still has the same amount of potential to run as the rest of you? Or do you believe their lack of memories makes them less capable?
“A lack of memories does not, by itself, make another candidate any less able to better Altelia. It was their decision to campaign for mayoralship or a place on the council, which surely must mean they are up for the task should they win. I have high doubts someone who isn’t commited to their prospective position would take part in this, as it is something that grasps at straws in attempts to degrade or belittle those running. The only way to truely tell if the one with amnesia is less capable than other candidates is to wait and see how things progress.”
Out of all the other current candidates: Who do you think is the most deserving of the Mayor and Council positions? Also, what is your reasoning?
“My opinion on who is most deserving is far from unbiased and, as such, I will refrain from answering. I will say there is no candidate who is inherently undeserving of the positions they are running for, so long as they are willing to put in the work required to do a satisfactory job.”
How will you handle foreign policy with other villages and cities in the region as well as bordering countries such as the Sechs Empire?
“As only on city out of many in this country, I highly doubt we will have any direct interactions with other countries such as the Sechs Empire. As for relations between nearby cities and villages, they could be fostered through trades between us and them, I suppose.”
Are YOU going to do anything to help the Police Station? Do you have any idea what happened there or do you believe a magic-user is on the loose again?
“The only thing I personally am able to do to help the Police Station is making some form of donation to aid in having it rebuilt. I am aware that a fire burnt down the building, however there is no evidence that leads to the assumption that a magic user was the cause. Anyone is capable of starting a fire, should they have the matierals to do so, this is not something only a select few are capable of.”
How would you react if you did NOT win in this election?
“If I do not win, then I do not win. I’ll accept the occurance as fact and move on with my life. Whoever is elected is by choice of the masses, according to who they think will do the best job and whol aligns more with their personal beliefs. There is no reason for me to cause a fuss about all of that.”
Out of all the current candidates who are running right now, who do you think is the MOST and LEAST responsible person?
“That is not something one can very easily assume from the answers other candidates have given towards these questions.”
Be honest with us, who do you plan on voting for in this election?
“Seeing as I am currently in the public eye, it would not be professional to voice who I would personally vote for, as it runs the potential of swaying the public vote. As such, I must refrain from giving you an answer, my apologies.”
Do you actively donate to charities or do you avoid them?
“I will donate to charities that I personally believe in and want to support, but no. I do not actively look for them, nor do I actively try to avoid them.”
