If my opponent has Empyrial Archangel and I cast Skullcrack, what happens?
Assuming that you targeted that opponent with Skullcrack, then Skullcrack will deal 3 damage to Empyrial Archangel. Additionally, damage won’t be able to be prevented this turn and players won’t be able to gain life this turn.
Empyrial Archangel’s redirection ability, like all redirection abilities, isn’t a damage prevention effect. Redirection abilties don’t prevent damage, but rather cause it to be dealt to something else instead of its intended “target”.
