ASK BOX TRICK-OR-TREAT | @redjacketed ↳ Magnus Burnsides Moodboard
@redjacketed liked for a starter
taako sighs, running a hand through his hair and staring dramatically out the window of the moon base. an odd, achy feeling burrows beneath his ribs and he grits his teeth. loneliness. he feels horribly, painfully ALONE and he hates it. hates that there's this HOLE in his chest that he can't seem to fill, that tears him apart when he's by himself.
he wishes, WISHES he could bring himself to reach out to merle or magnus, to ask if they feel this too, if they understand-- but he can't. it doesn't fit the carefree, detached persona he's crafted. his ego won't let him and now he's standing here in their shared living space, chest ACHING--
the sound of the door sliding open startles him and he spins, tear filled eyes going wide.
when kravitz learnt that magnus of course would be the first to pass -- he was heartbroken.
in the years kravitz grew to learn about the group of adventurers from a foreign planet -- no, plane of existence -- he had been welcomed into their little family of sorts. any big occasion would have taako dragging his boyfriend there and he would be forced to awkwardly mingle until one day -- it was normal. he could speak easily with merle about plants and nature ( a passion he had long ago from his tribe days ) and he would carefully learn wood carving from magnus when he was trusted with a small knife. lup and barry of course became coworkers, and when kravitz seen lucretia he would smile and be glad he didn’t go through with taking the souls of the surviving ipre members at the time.
but now -- now he had to. this was fate, istus had told him himself on a visit to his own queen. so now, he takes a step towards magnus, a weak smile on his lips before it warms, knowing that magnus had lived and loved more than so many other humans had got to -- he was ready to die this time, and kravitz knew. // @redjacketed ( angst sc. )

‘we lost barry.’ she excuses herself from the room at the earliest opportunity, and no one follows. nervous energy carries her to the lab, which is maybe the worst place she could’ve picked because his notes are still scattered across the table, his jacket draped over the back of his chair. her chest constricts. everything in their shared space is a cruel reminder that she’s going to spend the next ten months without him.
lup leaves without looking back. once she closes the door to her room behind her, something breaks. she sits down on her bed and cries, curling in on herself. an indiscernible amount of time has passed when she hears a knock on her door. suddenly she’s aware of how much her head hurts, and how tired she is, but she can’t stop crying enough to answer.
magnus enters anyway. there’s something so inherently calming about his presence. she lets her head fall against his chest as he pulls her into a hug, breathing in and out shakily until she can speak.
“what if he doesn’t come back? what if he’s just… gone?”

the suffering meme || 47. My muse comes to yours after being assaulted. || @redjacketed
each step is more painful than the last as lup makes her way back to the starblaster. her plan is to sneak into her room and avoid everyone until she can clean up, and then act as though nothing had ever happened. taako would freak if he saw her like this, and she doesn’t think she could handle barry fussing over her right now either. it’s better if nobody knows.
she considers using disguise self, but that would take too much energy. she passes by the kitchen, the common area, the lab – all blissfully empty. almost there. you’ve got this. but her feet seem to have a mind of their own, and guide her to someone else’s room instead.
her entire body is shaking with the effort to stay upright, the amount of blood she’s lost making her dizzy. her ears flatten against her head when she senses movement, and her back hits the wall before she makes the connection that it was just magnus opening his door.
“hey mags,” she breathes.

i know i lowkey asked for this but uh. ouch. wow. okay. wow.
i’m sorry. i would say it’ll get better but i think the next reply is probably going to be the one where barry dies, so... i’m sorry. (again).

my muse’s reaction to yours picking them up and throwing them over their shoulder
(lup and barry were able to track the light three months into the cycle; taako and magnus accompany them to a part of the world they haven’t yet explored. when they’re close enough to retrieve the light, they split up - barry and magnus check the caves, she and taako take to the forest. they aren’t prepared for the pair of shapeshifting sorcerers that ambush them).
she’s running through the woods with taako, their hands intertwined, until… she isn’t, because he let go. she glances over her shoulder as soon as she realizes he’s fallen behind; stops dead in her tracks at the sight of him on the ground.
it takes her a minute to recognize the scream that pierces the air as her own. she registers barry’s presence beside her as he throws a spell at the creatures that attacked her brother, and she barely has time to fire off one of her own before she’s lifted into the air.
“put me down!” her fists pound at magnus’s back, tears stinging at her eyes as she struggles in his grasp. logically she knows it’s too late, but that is her twin’s body - her heart - unconscious on the forest floor, and she refuses to let him go. “i have to help him!”
