Soccer Scandal
Hard to believe that it’s still going on, but this afternoon I had to go give a statement to the police about an incident at a 4-6 year old soccer game from the night before we left to go on our trip. G and I volunteer to officiate kids soccer in my small town even though we don’t have kids.
A woman coach (whose son played soccer) got into a verbal altercation with several other adults, then refused to leave the field, then her parents got involved and made physical contact with me while trying to fight Gavin and I just can’t believe how stupid it is.
The woman is basically blaming everyone but herself, saying she was never asked to leave, and trying to get other people suspended after she was given the option to take a voluntary year of suspension from the rec department.
At the football game tonight, I heard the rumor going around that her dad “bounced off” me, and I’m gonna let that one circulate.
