Went for a swim in the local toxic waste (river) with Sindy because there will be a storm and after that the river will be much colder and also dirtier so it was basically last chance and I was thinking how there are people that are like “ugh no i wont swim in a river it’s so dirty I might get sick :(” while we rednecks know it’s not “filthy bacteria” that you should fear (honestly we are all immune) but the biggest danger is actually random wooden spikes either from fallen broken tree that is hardly visible or remains from destroyed wooden bridge - when I was younger I got really ugly bruise on my ribs because I didnt see rather sharp wooden spike since the water is so dirty but luckily it didnt injure me more. That inciddent of course cant stop me from enjoying a good swim but when I tell people they usually get pretty scared but for us it’s like “uhuh yeah maybe I will get bruised or bleed a bit but a swim is a swim? it’s worth the risk”
