Red Rising: Gold
Red Rising by Pierce Brown (Review #9)
Description:
"I live for the dream that my children will be born free," she says. "That they will be what they like. That they will own the land their father gave them." "I live for you," I say sadly. Eo kisses my cheek. "Then you must live for more."
My Thoughts:
When i first heard of this book everyone was ranting & Raving about this book and now i finally understand what they were talking about! For me the hype was correct about this book. Red Rising was a mixture of Lord of the flies and The Hunger games but much darker and more brutal.
The book is a bit slow for about 90 or so pages, BUT stick with it! It is worth it! I feel like the writing is raw and i think it matches the way Darrow would talk and think. Speaking of Darrow...
Darrow was one of the best characters i have read in a long time. He’s smart and cunning and most of the time hes ahead of his enemies. He amits when he f**ks up, he does the best he can to fix it. Hes just awesome! I can’t wait to go on the rest of this journey with him. The other characters were just as awesome as darrow. I love them all and i can’t wait to see whats going to happen in Golden Sun & Morning Star. (They are in the mail now. :D)
Sorry if this review was all over the place but i am still in such love with this book. That it is hard to put all my thoughts in to a short review. I would reccomend this book to anyone. :)

“A few months ago I was contacted by a former classmate of mine, Devon Brickhouse-Bryson, whom I always considered the resident brain trust in our philosophy classes back at Pepperdine. Turns out, Devon has read Red Rising and along with more than a dozen other students of philosophy compiled an incredible book analyzing the philosophy and social criticisms within the Red Rising Trilogy (teaching me things in the process!). It was an absolute honor to read and I encourage you to support them by snagging yourself a copy. You can preorder. It will be on sale November 10th. All profits go to the editor (Courtland Lewis) and writers, with whom I am not affiliated.” - @pierce-brown
