The bitch wife trope is a new thing I am deciding to patent.
This trope can apply regardless of gender.
The idea is that one character in a ship will care for their significant other in a multitude of ways borderline parenting them at times. They do so in the classic tv trope of the bitch wife. Nagging, being hot and gorgeous about it. Being mean but also being efficient and tough. This has nothing to do with how breed-able they may or may not be. The focus is that they are taking care of their loved one and being a mean about it. (Assertive is a better term)
“Eat your vegetables, dumbass” kind of relationship.
Im never against the male-wife trope ever. But I feel the need to make the distinction. This is not about submissive behavior, this is about being a true mean bitch who gets shit done.
The following characters are what I would select as prime examples of bitch wives:

•Zim
•Kyle Broflovski
•Craig Tucker
•Tweek (they take turns)
Their spouses can be intermittently categorized as their loser idiot husband. (does not always apply unless I say it does) Sometimes it just means the other is reckless with taking care of themselves. Sometimes it means they are very very stupid.
I mean this with utmost feminism: My mission in life is to transition female characters out of the badass bitch wife trope and make them useless, stupid, yet somehow still very lovable. Not in the cool girl bimbo way. In the smelly dumb loser way.
