Philippine Red Cross Million Volunteer 4
Achievement unlocked! Running a 5k all alone, I feel independent by doing so. It is also my first time running a Million Volunteer Run held by the Red Cross, and I think it is not going to be my last either. The thing is that this was introduced to me by my school, iAcademy also they are a bonus point reward if we join. Nevertheless, I was not forced to do it, and I really wanted to run. I researched about the MV4 and what is the purpose for this event to happen, how HUMSS of me. I was actually even motivated when I learned that the past events of such had helped the Red Cross to improve their services to the communities that had been in need of guidance. For me I think it is overwhelming, due to the fact that a lot of people are gathering together in making such change for the greater good. In joining this run, it gave me this sense of duty to become part of the change that the red cross does. It was fulfilling and I felt healthy after finishing the 5k. The package for the run comes with a singlet of the race, a ribbon with a tag that you should wear during the race, a free sample of Milcu deodorant powder, and of course the race bib, which has a raffle ticket to it and other stubs. There are also instructions on how you should wash the singlet, which I think is very odd because not a lot of packages so far put in instructions on how to wash the given shirts, which is a good thing. However, I saw some with the runner’s card, but I didn’t get one. I also got the use my Elite Atmos Band, which detects my heartbeat, the distance, and also footsteps. It affordable, and you could track your progress with the app that is free in google store and play store.
