Write about a character who risks everything to pursue their heart’s desires.
AN: This is for the reedsy prompt competion but came way under the wordcount. Instead I thought to post it hear.
He knew it sounded stupid. Pitting everything you’ve worked for on a single spur-of-the-moment decision. But it wasn't, was it?
After a day of sitting in an uncomfortable office chair, his eyes rubbed raw from staring at a blinking computer screen and enduring the torture of small talk with colleagues with names barely worth remembering, he would go to bed staring up at the ceiling. Dreaming of how different his life would be if he wasn't terrified of where his heart was pulling toward.
His chest was brazier, his rib cage containing the crackling embers of a burning fantasy. Whether it was fear or desire that fanned the flames would be realised in the ashes.

No one and he means no one other than Bathalang Maykapal, the supreme father of the sky can stop him, not his mortal mother, not this tiny Filipina woman hugging him. “Moved woman,” he commanded looking at the man he's been chasing for days run out of the door. “No, I’m not letting you chase him!” Her arms wrapped around his waist tightened. One swing of his hand and her fragile body will break at the cement wall of her small house, but every muscle in his body tense at the contact, stopping him. His mind reeled. What kind of witchcraft she was using to make him conscious that only the thin cotton of her blouse was between their skin? .....
