Contrary to popular belief, no, I don't hate Sonic. He's annoying, his jokes are grating, his insistence on spending time with me can really get on my nerves, he's obsessed with speed and has no sense of discipline or responsibility.
He was more than willing to stop Eggman when he tricked me that first time, all those years ago. He was willing to save the island I hold dear, even when I… wasn’t the best person to him then. I've been tricked by that doctor a couple times and he's never really held that against me. At least not for long...
Besides that, I know he's a good person. Many heroes would jump at the chance to destroy Chaos for good when he achieved his Perfect form, but Sonic wanted to help him with his fury. That alone amazed me, and we had known each other for a while at that point.
He also always makes sure to help me if I need it, and listens to me if I need someone to talk to. I respect him. Enough that I literally led the Resistance when Sonic was being held prisoner for a while during that nonsense with that Infinite guy.
I guess you could call him a friend. But don't tell him that I called him that, or he'll never let me hear the end of it.
