Normally I don't go out of my way to talk to random people like this, but I was encouraged to open this "blog" to prevent others from flocking to my island to ask them in person. Hmph. I'm still unsure about opening this thing.

I'm Knuckles the Echidna, the last surviving member of the Knuckles Clan and the sole guardian of the Master Emerald on Angel Island.

There's not much to say about me. Unless the world is in danger, I don't leave my island. But I suppose this part of my personality is what has attracted many to know more about me, especially as my adventures outside of my island place me with a public figure such as Sonic.

Many have come to my island. They've all been found, and immediately thrown off. Angel Island is a place of worship, meant to be preserved and kept safe by my clan- and as the last remaining member, very few outside of myself are allowed to stay more than mere minutes on my island.

But my friends, as I find myself begrudgingly calling them, have informed me that opening a blog where people can ask me questions will keep them from seeking out my island. In the hopes this will keep curious people away from me and the Master Emerald, I'm opening this blog with assistance from some guy from the Restoration that Tails instructed to assist.

I'm only doing this on my terms though, so listen up:

Whatever questions you ask, I'm gonna answer my way. That means I might answer simply or go into detail. Depends on how I feel about the question.

You ARE allowed to ask about Angel Island and the Master Emerald. But don't expect specific coordinates or anything. I know that bat-girl is probably reading this right now...

You might see some other people I've been known to hang out with asking questions or replying to my answers, and sometimes I reply back. I guess you can say it's me "being friendly," but I know in some cases (Sonic) if I don't reply the person (Sonic) will find a way to annoy me directly (SONIC)

Ask me about dating, ask me about girls and guys and whatever, but don't ask about anything private about my body or anything weird, or you'll get a sucker punch right in the stomach.

Anyway, I'll be here with the Master Emerald when you all are ready to ask something.

This Knuckles is a mix of games and comics canon, primarily the former. Events in the comics, past present and future, can and will be referenced. Game events will be openly discussed, so SPOILERS!!!

Knux is standoffish and headstrong, but he's always open to chat and is mostly friendly if you're friendly to him. However, on the flip side, he gets flustered very easily- if your question makes him too perturbed, he might not give you a straight answer. Sometimes he may answer in a way that might come off as rude; that doesn’t reflect the opinions of myself, the writer.

Questions are accepted, but not all questions will be answered! This may be because it didn't go through or, in the off chance that a lot of people submit questions, it may be unseen. Hey Knuckles! Big fan! Question! With the master emerald, how often do you leave from guarding it?

I only leave if absolutely necessary. This is only limited to if the world is in danger and needs my help to defend it... Or if I'm asked a very heartfelt favor. But it takes a lot of convincing to get me away from Angel Island!

Hey Knuckles, I just stumbled across this blog of yours when I was looking up some things. I hope you are doing well! I do have a question of my own, however. With y'alls most recent venture(Frontiers/Starfall Isles), how do you feel about the information uncovered in that the Chaos Emeralds weren't originally from Earth? That they and Chaos's(and the Chao by proxy) ancestors were brought to Earth by the pull of the Master Emerald who knows how many eons ago?

The revelation was a very strange one, to say the least. There had been times, once or twice, where I had wondered of the origins of the Chaos Emeralds- though I always concluded that it wasn't my place to know, rather to simply just guard them because that was my duty.

But them being from space? Chaos and chao being descendants of the Ancients? That was all a very unexpected surprise. (Though I guess all surprises are unexpected...) The Master Emerald being what pulled them to Earth didn't surprise me, given their relationship, but the origins of the Master Emerald is now eating at my mind.

Regardless, in the end, it's my job to protect the Master Emerald, not to sit pondering of its past. I'm sure whatever adventure Sonic and his friends pull me into next will most likely tell me where the Master Emerald came from anyways.

Hey Knuckles, what is your bond with the master emerald like?

The Master Emerald is my longest-lasting companion and my greatest "friend," in a manner of speaking. Chaos and Tikal both speak to me through the Master Emerald, or sometimes outside of it.

It's my duty, passed onto me by my ancestors, to protect the Master Emerald. The emerald itself knows this, I feel. It's gone as far as to guide me when I need it, like how it showed me a vision of the Egg Carrier when I needed to collect the Master Emerald shards during the trouble with Chaos.

I've seen people use Chaos Control with the Chaos Emeralds... but has anyone actually used it on the Master Emerald? Do you think you'd be able to teleport the island anywhere you want if you'd use it on the Master Emerald?

It has been used on the Master Emerald before. There was a time where Eggman, alongside the reprogrammed gizoid Gemerl (formerly Emerl) used Chaos Control on the Chaos Emeralds improperly, which split the entire planet apart!

...huh. You know, if I had a nickel every time Eggman split the world apart with the Chaos Emeralds, I'd have two nickels (so far). It's not a lot but it's weird that it happened twice, right?

Anyway, I raced to Angel Island with Sonic, Tails, Amy and Cream to use the Master Emerald in order to restore harmony to the world, since the Chaos Emeralds were all over the place then. We were successful- the Master Emerald itself has tons of energy, more than all the Chaos Emeralds, which is why it can neutralize the seven emeralds in the first place.

What is your opinion on grape flavored stuff I.E. candy, cough, syrup unrelated note, what type of candy did the emeralds taste like because since the take over were you said they tasted like candy I’ve been trying to figure out what color is what flavor

My opinion is that they don't even taste like grapes at all! They taste like a pale imitation of grapes, flavors overly condensed until it doesn't resemble the fruit at all! Same with bananas.

...also, the emeralds just taste like rock candy, but you really have to focus on the taste. The flavor's all in the Chaos Emeralds' energy. Though I also said that to trick Sonic and Eggman into licking the emeralds and looking like idiots...

Do you consider yourself a hero?

A hero? I suppose. I mean, I always lend a hand whenever Sonic can't save the world on his own, and he's a hero, so...

But don't misunderstand me, I don't think I'm worthy of having my poster in some kid's bedroom or whatever. I'm a loner that's stuck on a floating island... that's not really role model material.

I've seen some people theorize that Amy is part echidna because of her appearance and natural strength. What do you think?

I mean I guess I could see why people think that, but I'm certain she's 100% hedgehog. If she was an echidna, I'd know it. I knew Amy before she took on a more "modern" appearance, and her quills looked really similar to Sonic's.

As for why her quills look like that nowadays, she styles them using gel. I asked her about it once- she said she wanted to change up her look. That and because Sonic never changes his quills, she thought people would start mistaking them as related.

What if someone were to steal the Master Emerald to use for world domination, NOT that I would do that, what would you do to prevent, hypothetically, the genius and incredibly handsome Dr. Eggman?

Nice try, but I'm not falling for it! The only person who ever thinks that Eggman is anything close to a genius or "incredibly handsome" is Orbot and Cubot! Since this ask isn't full of spelling errors, I'm going to assume this is Orbot!

So I'll say this one time and one time only: I don't need preventive measures to keep that doctor away from the Master Emerald and off my island. From the way he constantly screws up his own plans, the only preventative measure I need is his own stupidity.

Hey Knuckles! I hope that question dosen't look weird to you, but are you really 16?

I was pretty a suprised seeing that you're pratically a teenager, didn't know they could be really strong!

Last I checked, yeah I'm sixteen. Though to be honest, it feels like I've been sixteen for thirty years or something, it's been so long since my birthday.

As for my strength, I was born with it. I'm naturally incredibly strong, no matter my age. When I was a baby I managed to shatter an entire boulder with one punch!

...Don't look into that. Just take my word for it.

Well it's not going to happen! The- The blushing bit. I'm not going to get flustered over this. If people want to put me together with my friend in their heads, that's fine! I don't care! I don't even care!!!

Whatever happened to Shade?

Heh heh... Good question.

After we escaped the Twilight Cage and sealed the Nocturnus Clan back in that awful dimension, Shade joined us back on Earth.

She hung out with me on Angel Island for a while, mostly to get a sense of what the Knuckles Clan had been doing ever since the Argus Event plucked the Nocturnus from Earth.

But... She's a lot like Sonic, in a sense. She wanted to get a sense of the world and how much it's changed. She had a second chance, and Shade wanted to capitalize on that.

I can't blame her... After what happened on the Starfall Islands, I want to do that too. I just need to make sure my affairs are in order first. Maybe when I'm out there... I'll go look for her. So she isn't alone in the big bad world.

Yeah. I think I'd like that.

who'd you rather deal with for 24 hours with if you HAD to... Sonic or Rouge? ;p

Neither.

Fine. If I had to pick one of them, I would pick... Rouge.

Sure, there's a solid chance she'll try to steal my emerald, but at least she knows when to be quiet. And all things considered... I do have some pleasant conversations with her, when she's not focused purely on gems or being sneaky.

Amy mentioned during the last takeover that she had been training with you. How did that go?

Harrowing.

She came to me in her downtime to train with someone that she said could "keep her from really causing damage" due to my strength.

I'll admit my mistake of that I severely underestimated Amy and her strength. She's performed feats of strength before, but I thought they were isolated incidents... I was wrong.

She kept rubbing her wrists where she was wearing those golden bands, so I told her to take them off... even after she told me they were weights. I should've heeded that warning, but I didn't know how much trouble I was in until those weights sunk into the ground as soon as they hit the grass.

One swing and she nearly snapped Angel Island in two. It took the both of us to fix the damage before the island completely split. After that... well, we haven't had a training session since until I can figure out how to best train her.

Tails thinks I'm playing about her being able to crack the planet in half with her hammer. I know she can.

Knuckles do you play video games? Do you have a favorite type of games?

I only really play games when I'm over at Vanilla's house. Cream has these old game systems that Vanilla bought a while back... I think it was called the Dreamcrust or something? It's been a while.

There's this one game that Vanilla lets me play only when Cream is out with the chao, it's called Shenmue! This guy's investigating his father's death, he trains and he kicks a lot of guys' butts! It's so cool!

Hugs can be nice. Granted they're from the right person, and they ask for it first.

If you ask, maybe I'll give someone a hug. Don't surprise me with a hug. That's the quickest route to getting thrown clear across my island.

Favorite flower...

Orchids.

Being on an island that floats over the surface of the planet, we get all kinds of flora growing here. Orchids are a rare find, and they're hard to really grow, but when they're in bloom they're beautiful.

I don't know why you'd be asking if you had no reason though.
