There are many things I know will get better once I let go of some preconceived notions I am holding about them and holding too tightly but also maybe accepting that I can’t let go of them right now and not fighting THAT is good enough.

My partner (M25) is extremely avoidant with me (F25). How do I find a fixed resolution for this situation?
My boyfriend and I have been together for over four years and have a 10-year history. At first, it felt as if we were made for each other. Everything we've been through was for each other. It went great for a year and a half after we started dating in 2022. However, over time, he became increasingly avoidant. My therapist diagnosed me with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) in 2019, and I've been working on myself constantly since. I strive to be better for myself and our relationship. But there's nothing on his end. He is struggling financially, does not have a job, and is attempting to achieve his goals through trading and funded accounts, which has also changed him significantly. But I've always been supportive. Every time he talks to me, he brings up charts, the fluctuation of oil or gold prices, or video games. That's his life. He'd only had one girlfriend before me, and he was extremely available for her. I feel like he poured all of his energy into her, leaving none for me. He told me, "I don't want to lose myself again, especially in a relationship." However, this should not imply that he does not try to communicate with me or care about my emotions. When I tell him it hurts me when he becomes cold and distant, he does not bother to work on these behaviors, as if he couldnt care less about losing me. I tried to talk to him about marriage, but he ignored it and continued to push it. I get the impression that he only loves me when it is convenient for him, and Instagram reels do not help with the emotions. He says he loves me, and once a year he does something extremely big, such as giving my entire family a ride to and from my brother's house and the hospital. But he rarely does anything on special occasions. He hasn't planned anything for my birthday in the last three years of our relationship. I keep thinking he's dealing with a lot of issues in his life, his family is as dysfunctional as mine, and I feel like I'm making excuses for his behavior, so I can stay. Honestly, I've had my fair share of relationships, and I don't think I want to do another one. I just wanted to end up with him, but the chances seem slim, and he doesn't seem to love me. Boys and girls, could you please advise me on what you think? Do you do this? Is this normal? My feelings are extremely unstable, so I dont know who or what to trust. I had asked him if we should take a break, and he became upset. But he ghosts me for days; isn't that a FUCKING BREAK over and over again?
I'm sorry, but I think you hit the nail on the head with the bolded. When someone shows you they don't give a shit about losing you - BELIEVE THEM. It's time to end this relationship for good. Stop taking breaks. They're useless and not changing anything. Do the break up.
dont even have anything to say except complaining. i hate being so boring. cant hold a conversation to save my life. i cant tell if its me being vaguely neurodivergent or simply having no skills. sometimes i think a conversation is going good and pleasant, but it just ends on one-two sentences. sometimes i say things like, "i hope this weekend can be sunny", and hoping they respond with something, so i can continue to explain them that i wanna have a picnic in the park, or tell about other plans. and it just ends there. i cant help but interpret every single question as an invitation to a conversation, when most of the time, it is just that - a simple question, usually asked out of politeness. i hate always being the one who desperately holds onto any talk at all, no matter how casual. i cant tell when have i failed to learn how to be normal about it. its so alienating

Trying to internally balance out all that had occurred during the last chaotic event for their kind, Armand was lost in thought not paying any attention to who was still around him. Lax for his defenses but he knew this person, or a version of him had long ago so when she pulled them close in a loving hold he didn't fight it. Embracing his lady back.

Suddenly all there was, was red. Totally enveloping him. Wrapped in a familiar hold he couldn't have escaped even if he wanted too, and he most definitely didn't. Words were confetti to him at times, pleasing on the ear but no balm to his soul in the way actions were. Marius' reaction in pulling him into an totally surprise embrace pushed together their broken selves. Time for them to heal. Finally...
