The Walking Dead characters collages pt. 3
(In order: Martin, Nicholas, Dawn Lerner, Amanda, Steven Edwards, Joan, Noah, (Father) Gabriel Stokes, Aaron, Ron, Sam & Jessie Anderson, Aiden, Deanna & Spencer Monroe, Tobin, Eric, Reg Monroe, Olivia, Enid, Owen, Scott, Denise Cloyd, Heath, Annie, Francine, Carter, Harlan Carson, Gregory, Paul Rovia/Jesus)
"The cavemen... They were all nomads, and they all died. Then, we evolved into this and we lived. Civilization starts when we stop running, when we live together and we stop sending people away. From the world, and from each other." - Reg Monroe (5.16, "Conquer")
Deanna, the leader of Alexandria, has the biggest character change from the comics. The leader in the comics is actually a man named Douglas. Deanna's husband, Reg, is named Regina in the comic, and is Douglas' wife.
Hello ! There is something that baffles me and I'm would be very interested in knowing your opinion : how do you explain that 2 amazing people like Deanna and her husband ended up "producing" 2 children that were far from impressive, morally speaking ?
You know, this is interesting because I don’t know if I completely agree with the assessment that Aiden and Spencer were actually ‘bad people’ to begin with.
*Aiden: Sure, he was a little shit. But he was a young, scared little shit that actually felt the deaths he was responsible for. Not only that, he confessed them and was looking to Glenn for guidance when it came to leading the scavenging party up until he died. When he and Nicholas got the others of them group killed it wasn’t out of malice, it was out of fear. Aiden and Nicholas has very little true gritty experience with how it was out there. It is questionable how many walkers they actually came across pre team family due to Deanna mentioning that the state had been officially evacuated on top of the quarry pit directing a ton of walkers away from Alexandria’s gates. Aiden was the son of Alexandria’s leader, he was expected to be out there, leading. And it is very possible he wasn’t ready for that in the first place. And that is understandable.
*Spencer: Honestly, in my book the biggest thing he did was eventually go against Rick. And frankly, I don’t blame him. From his perspective everything went to shit when Rick arrived. Not just in terms of his family’s deaths but the overall community. Spencer doesn’t know Rick as anyone other than a slightly unstable man that led a large and good group to Alexandria and rather quickly, took charge of it. Personally if Rick waltzed in like he did I would have doubts. In Spencer’s mind all this just added on to one another until he looked at Negan and what was happening with Rick and decided that he could do a better job. And frankly- he had a better plan than Rick up until he was gutted. Spencer was taking a leaf out of his mother’s book with diplomacy. He was set to play the long game which would eventually get rid of Negan. Rick was still playing the ‘lets play hide and seek with my testicles’ game up until Aaron was beaten up and Spencer was gutted.
So, personally, I would say they Spencer and Aiden died as they lived. Young and inexperienced. Reg and Deanna grew up and matured a long time ago. Spencer and Aiden were still trying to get there - on top of the world ending.
I didn’t fully realize this before but- it was literally just Deanna, Reg, Spencer and Aiden in the beginning. They put the first plates of the wall up. The others came later.
GIVE ME BACKSTORY.
HOW DID AARON AND ERIC GET THERE?
Tobin?
Nicholas?
Olivia?
