Cool Facts- Bowerbirds are the hoarders of the bird world, and regent bowerbirds are no exception. Using sticks to create a display in a basket-like shape, the male regent bowerbird often paints the sticks with his blueish-green saliva. How romantic! Loving the color blue, this bowerbird will use anything from flowers to plastic to try and win over a mate. The female chooses the males with the most blue objects and the largest, cleanest bowers. Once mated, the male will continue to try and woo other females while his previous mate goes off to raise their chicks as a single mom.
