Her stomach had swelled. Only a little bit but it was still swollen and she pressed her palm against it constantly. "Hagi aren't you excited for your children?" she smiled up at him and repeated his name. /// "Hagi?" Saya pressed her hands on her hips, "Hey! Space cadet, what are you thinking about?" She canted her head to the side, "It looked like you were day dreaming."
Children.
The thought alone makes a smile grace his features, and a knot appear in his stomach. He's never thought too much about becoming a father, let along fathering his Queens children. Would they have pale skin and crimson eyes, or errant locks of raven hair? They would be girls, that much was a given, twins.
They'd be spoiled and honest, they'd play the cello. They'd be beautiful. He would be the stricter parent of the two, making sure they had proper lessons, while Saya would be more easy going.
They'd be adored.
Her voice brings him out of his daydreams, and it isn't long until reality sinks in.
He knows such thoughts shouldn't pass through his mind, knows that that outcome will never be possible for them, not in this lifetime, not with what they were. He's sure that he's simply putting himself through torturous delusions, ones he had long since given up on, but still, he wonders.
He smiles weakly, though he's sure that he can't completely hide the pain he feels.
A family is the only thing he'll never be able to give her, and it pains him, because he's sure that the thought has crossed her mind as well. He's only ever wanted to give her everything she deserved, and because of what they were, she would forever remain barren.
He takes her hand in his, holding onto it tightly for a moment. "It's.. nothing to worry about. I was just lost in thought."
