A flag for Appalachian region. The flag features an Appalachian Star. The fourteen stripes represent the states within the original Appalachian Homeland, Green is the color of the mountains up close. Purple is their color from a distance. Red represents heart and orange represents individuality.

from /r/vexillology Top comment: I’m sorry, but I worked at the Tamarack (where the logo cane from) so I’m going to have to judge this flag kinda harsh. The facility only represents artist who currently reside in West Virginia, in that they have to have a WV address to be accepted. The art there really doesn’t represent any state north of WV save for maybe southern PA. The symbol itself is indicative of a quilting pattern while the colors don’t mean anything per se. As well as general flag rules, there are too many colors. Simplify the colors to two or three non glaring colors. Then if you just made the flag WV centric as opposed to greater Appalachia then you may have something cool here.
