She looked at him for what seemed like ages. She could have lied to him, but instead she simply told him the truth.

“That’s the difference between you and I, you see. I knew I loved you. God did I ever.” She says with pain in every word she said.

“That’s a lie. I did love you.” He replied.

She gives a short laugh. “No, you didn’t. You didn’t love me like the way I loved you.”

He couldn’t respond because he knew she was right. She was always right.
