#10 A Shy Kiss

The awed stares directed at her almost makes Reguna beam with pride. She doesn’t blame them – they think she’s the incredible courtesan who charmed herself into the bed of the seemingly-celibate Prince Fuyuzhi.

Of course, she knows that’s not true. There’s no Prince Fuyuzhi, just a struggling young Mastress trying to keep everything together, and she didn’t really charm her way into the Mastress’ bed – you were lonely, and needed a companion to speak with.

It’s a bit of shame, in Reguna’s professional opinion. Her little Mastress is very beautiful (you’d be even prettier if you ever showed your emotions), and is a surprisingly eloquent speaker (you’d be utterly charming if you weren’t so obsessed with war).

It’s little surprise that when she enters your room, you’re sitting by your low table, poring over yet another book. “Mastress!”

You don’t even look up. “Quiet.”

She pouts as she waltzes over to your desk, and wrapping her arm around your shoulder. “It’s dark, Mastress. You shouldn’t read in the dark.”

You merely hum in acknowledgement, but don’t actually reply to her.

Reguna sighs, not liking the feeling of being ignored. So, she takes the book from you, ignoring the disgruntled grumble you give her. “Mastress, don’t ignore me. Is the book really that much more interesting than me?”

“I was reading that…”

Her smile is saccharine as she sing-songs, “If you want your book back, kiss me.”

The reddening of your cheeks brings her utter delight. “That’s…that’s ridiculous…”

“Then you’ll never get it back.”

“W-wait…” Your cheeks are bright red as you lean toward her, brushing your lips gently against hers. “T-there…”

Reguna laughs. “That’s not a kiss, but I’ll let you off easy today.”

Truly, breaking down the Prince Fuyuzhi…the little Mastress is her personal pleasure.
