She was so engrossed in her book that she didn’t hear Reha enter the room until she was sitting beside her. They hadn’t spoken and Hae-Kyung knew that Reha wasn’t happy with her. She thought that she would give her space to relax but space had turned into distance. If it weren’t for the news for what Reha’s father had done, she wouldn’t have flagged the other woman down. “What are you going to do now?” She asked. There were plenty of ways Reha could be vilified if she decided to act in a way that the press didn’t like. “Or am I not allowed to ask anymore, because we aren’t friends?”

God, Miriam knew this confrontation could leave her being labeled he jealous ex, and as much as that bothered her, she didn’t care. While she’d been in her own world in Canada, it was impossible to not keep up with the news as it was part of her job. When she’d read about Reha’s engagement to one of her best friends -- protectiveness over Natasja was her first instinct. The second? To worry. With all the anger & determination she could muster she went to where she heard Reha was staying, knocking on the door rapidly. “Hey! I need to talk to you, Reha. IMMEDIATELY.”
