When the sun sets and darkness falls on the wilderness, the night can seem eerie on your own. Being enshrouded by the large firs of the Pacific Northwest can be disorienting. Ones mind can run away with itself of what creatures may be lurking beyond the lichen curtains of the hanging moss. But as the grey skies clear, one can see the wonder of the universe shine it's nights beacon upon your forested abode, and you say to yourself "whatever monsterous thing is making all of that racket in the distance, can it really be so bad when the universe is so good? And maybe... just maybe... One's life view really starts to change once you view the world as a playground for your enjoyment. We have such limited time on this earth, that I have felt it is important to explore these wonders and be aware and present to the places and friendships we encounter along the way. I am excited to compile my photos and stories to share with you in hopes that'll inspire a desire to give up your comfort zone in replace of journeys of new adventure and comradery. Time is the most precious commodity we posses, and I want to make sure to fill mine with substance that inspires me and fills me with the glory of our universe. This picture was not taken by me, but of me, by a friend I made on top of Half Dome one evening as we discussed his travels by bicycle that had brought him from France, through the UK, to Yosemite valley before he continued on to the southern states. On the hike up to the second 14er peak of the day, while stopped for the 100th time to catch my breath, some guy told me to "embrace the suck because the views are worth it". He was right.
